Does losing reputation remove perks you've earned?

Posted: 26 Oct 2021 06:16 AM PDT

Upon reaching 20,000 reputation on the reputation tree, your reputation decays at a rate of 5% of the amount above 20,000 per day.

According to the wiki:

Rewards are claimable only once, so even if you reached a milestone, went below and achieved it again, you won't get the rewards again.

However, what about perks such as the number of daily trades or maximum villager training level? Do these disappear to?

The UI seems to suggest you lose the perk, but as my valley has not progressed far enough, so I have no way of telling.

Can I still play my PS4 disc games on a PS5 without disc drive?

Posted: 26 Oct 2021 04:44 AM PDT

My PS4 has served me well over the years, but in the coming months I'll probably upgrade to the PS5. However, I'm not sure of the choice between the digital or disc edition. My main concern is: Can I still play my PS4 disc games on the PS5 digital edition?

I don't mind downloading the games, for example after entering the cd key, I just own a few titles that I'd like to keep playing after replacing my PS4.

Specific lightning arrow task, after the arrow strikes, and only using a specific bow

Posted: 26 Oct 2021 06:26 AM PDT

I was testing out this really fun command:

/execute at @e[type=arrow] run summon lightning_bolt.

It was really fun, summoning an entire line of lightning bolts, one after another, but what if I would only like to have the lightning strike after the arrow has hit something (like a block, not a mob), and I would only want lightning to strike an x amount of times.

There is this code that looks appealing, but I don't know how to use it.

/testfor @e[type=Arrow] {inGround:1b,player:1b}

Is there a way to do this? For example, I were to shoot an arrow, and lightning were to NOT be summoned yet, and when the arrow hits a block/player, I would want it to summon lightning 5 times, and make the arrow disappear, how would I write it in a command block/chain of command blocks?

Also, preferably, I would like to have only the arrows shot from a bow named (let's say it's named "text"), to be affected by this command. So that's another problem I have to deal with.

Thanks for helping me, (if you did)!

Set a block when something happens

Posted: 25 Oct 2021 08:16 PM PDT

Okay, so I'm trying to get a block to change when something happens. I have the command execute as @a[scores={hunger=6}] run say you cant do that anymore to detect when your hunger is low.

I also have setblock -308 4 46 minecraft:stone just to place the block the player mines

What I'm needing, is when your hunger bar is at 0, the block changes to bedrock and shows a message You cant do that anymore

so far, just having the execute hunger command, I have it on a repeating command block, it only shows when your hunger is at 0, but it spams the chat instead.

Posted: 25 Oct 2021 09:24 AM PDT

In Minecraft Java Edition on my Chromebook Duet the mouse cursor just goes out of the Minecraft window when playing instead of centering itself.

I used Pi-Apps in Ubuntu 21.04 (in Crostini) to install Minecraft MultiMC and the install worked and I can play the game but I don't how to fix the problem I described above.

I haven't really tried anything to fix it as there is not really much on the issue.

Any Help would be appreciated!

Minecraft SERP Pokedrock

Posted: 25 Oct 2021 09:12 AM PDT

SERP Pokedrock is a Minecraft mod that adds pokemon to your world. My question is, are the evolutions in this mod exactly like the regular pokemon games? If not is there a list someone that tells what I have to do to evolve every pokemon in the game?

Does the power level itself have effect in Valhalla or only the selected skills?

Posted: 25 Oct 2021 06:33 AM PDT

In Assassin's Creed Valhalla you get XP and with these you earn skill points. When using these skill points on the skill tree you gain power levels. It is noted in multiple articles that a higher power level makes you stand more damage and do more damage. They also make it sound like there might be some calculations based on the level difference between your power level and the "level" of the opponent. In multiple RPGs the level itself adds health or other stats, so such a thing is not unheard of. However, I could not find any direct information about this, so maybe various articles I read are just not worded 100% logically correct.

Example with a tendency to "only skill points matter" (but not clear): skills guide from ubisoft:

Global Power: Active skill nodes will also increase your overall power. This will increase your base Stats and so your ability to survive in the world.

Another example that seems like the power level in itself has an effect (gamepressure):

If you decide to explore a region whose power level significantly exceeds the hero's power, you have to remember that: Eivor will deal much less damage to enemies, i.e. you will have to attack many times to kill them. Enemy attacks will deal Eivor much more damage. It is possible that a single enemy attack will kill the hero or make them close to dying.

Or gamertweak:

With more power level in Assassin's Creed Valhalla, you will be able to take down enemies faster and easier than ever before.

The skill tree perks increase stats like health, light damage and many other things. The way how the tree works it is basically impossible to put only points in health, or only in damage. So putting a certain amount of skill points ends up raising most stats "somewhat" evenly. However, you can easily spend 10 points without any effect on a specific encounter and spending 20 points without a bonus to the way you fight. So having a difference of 20 points between you and the enemy also does not have such a big effect either.

My question is: Does having a higher power level make you stronger (only) because of the exact skill points you selected, or is there another (additional) direct effect of your power level that increases damage or the amount of damage you can take? (or even the damage that opponents deal)

Of course the power level (regardless of skills selected) adds some green or red color in opponents are when any power level suggestions are displayed, but that is only the graphical effect.

I am also aware that your gear (and the upgrades on it) changes the stats, which is not included in the power level at all.

Is there a way to light stuff on fire without attacking it?

Posted: 25 Oct 2021 06:23 PM PDT

I'm playing Assassin's Creed: Odyssey (PC via Steam, all DLC). When I equip my torch, I know I can light stuff on fire by attacking it. Is there another way to do it?

When I played Origins, there were certain objects that Bayek would just light if you stood next to them holding a torch. Braziers (regular ones not the alarm ones), sconces, mounted torches, that sort of thing -- simply hold the torch, stand close enough, and Bayek would reach out and light them. I found this very useful not just because I am a pyromaniac and I like setting things on fire, but also because I could use it to track where I'd been. For example, if I was sneaking through a pyramid, I'd light all braziers as I went down a corridor, so if I had to backtrack to go down different side passages I'd always be able to tell where I'd been previously.

Example -- the brazier on the right of this screenshot snippet was lit by standing near it holding a torch.

AC Origins lit brazier

This mechanic seems to be missing from Odyssey. (In general, the "stand or crouch nearby and the character will do it automatically" mechanic seems to be missing, come to think of it. In addition to lighting things on fire, Bayek would also pet cats, for example.)

When I have Kassandra hold the torch and stand close to an unlit brazier ... well nothing happens. Standing or crouching, she makes no move to light the brazier. The only way I've figured out to do this is to actually "attack" the brazier with the torch. Unfortunately, Kassandra's torch attack is a wide arching swing, so we usually end up not only lighting the brazier, but also the wall, the roof, innocent civilians, and sometimes ourselves on fire as well.

Fire arrows are, of course, an alternative ... but that seems a waste of arrows. Other than these two methods (torch attack and fire arrows), is there another simpler/less wasteful way to light things on fire? (I'm specifically interested in lighting things like non-alarm braziers on fire; the torch attack/fire arrow is fine for destroying military supplies on missions.)

Comparative example: Kassandra can stand here with her torch next to this brazier all day and will never just light it.

Does using the Walkie-talkie (general chat) attract the Ghost?

Posted: 25 Oct 2021 09:06 AM PDT

With the new haunts, you cannot have you flashlight out (or any electronics) during a haunt, because it will attract the ghost to you.

So when playing, I started just doing small bursts of the walkie talkie, and if I hear some static, I know it's still haunting.

But thing is, does it attract ghosts to you? You are using an electrical device by doing that. Or, more importantly, if I do it and the ghost is close to one of my teammates, can it attract it to him?

Minecraft LAN world not being detected by a MacBook Air

Posted: 25 Oct 2021 11:03 PM PDT

We have 3 laptops, a Windows 10, a MacBook Pro (2020), and a MacBook Air Mid-2014 Both Macs in Big Sur. The problem here is that when the Mac Air hosts the LAN game everyone else can see it, but if the other two try, Mac Air can't see it. The windows and Mac Pro can see each other so the problem is in Mac Air. Also they can ping each other using cmd or terminal 'ping ip'.

I have tried using -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true in the JVM arguments with no success and all firewalls are disabled. Both Mac don't have java installed and they are using the one installed in the launcher (I tried by installing Java 6, 7, 8 and JDK14 before formatting the laptop since I had a lot of trash and could even be a solution)

I know about the direct connect but it is annoying having to type it and the port every time since we keep switching versions to play survival and pvp

Any Ideas? I have tried using other solutions for other similar cases but they are very little and they didn't work.

Why doesn't my TRUST GXT 560 Nomad controller work on my xbox 360?

I have found a good controller, it is a controller from Trust and it is called Trust GXT Nomad. It works when I plug it into my computer, but when I plug it into my Xbox 360 it does not work, even though it has xInput. Any ideas why it isn't working when it should be? Thanks!

How to enable the abilities wheel for Might, Finesse and Sorcery abilities?

Posted: 25 Oct 2021 03:00 PM PDT

I'm playing Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-reckoning on the PS4. While I've leveled up and selected some of the special abilities, e.g. Might: Quake, Finesse: Shadow Flare, Sorcery: Storm Bolt, I've been unable to actually use them. When I enter combat, the ability wheel appears in the lower right corner of the screen, but I don't know how to engage any of the buttons. For example, Quake is the circle button, yet when I press it the action performed is the dodge. I found a reddit thread that says to press R1 first, but that also performs the default action of crouching for stealth. What am I missing?

How to stop autoplay of videos in Epic Games Launcher?

Posted: 25 Oct 2021 11:10 PM PDT

Since the beginning of this game client's life there is a significant performance drop when the user opens the page of game X - the main trailer or next gameplay video automatically starts playing. Wasted MBs/GBs of traffic, sometimes this hiccups the whole machine. Already asked their support and the only thing I received was a greeting for playing Chapter 2 of Fortnite ... I never played Fortnite and still won't do it

Any idea how to stop the autoplay?

Do I need to know Japanese in order to play Super Princess Peach?

Posted: 26 Oct 2021 02:27 AM PDT

I just bought a copy of Super Princess Peach for my Nintendo DS but the game version is Japanese and the seller told me to refund if it's 'not in English'.

Do I really need to read Japanese language to play it? Or is there any way to change it to English Language?

I'm not so much worried about missing out on the story (since I can find a summary on the internet to understand it), but I'm more worried about in-game menus and those kind of things.

Are 2B's and 9S's default swords the same?

Posted: 25 Oct 2021 01:15 PM PDT

When playing through the game as 2B and 9S, you start with their respective default weapons. 2B starts with the Virtuous Contract and 9S starts with the Cruel Oath.

Other than having different descriptions and appearance, both swords seem to be identical. They have had the same stats each time I have upgraded them and it appears it increases both of them have increased attack speeds, as well. Both swords are level 3 in my playthrough with Attack: 420-504, Combo: Lt 6 Hv 3, and ATK Speed Up.

Is there a difference in these swords or is it just lore that distinguishes these 2 swords?

Rebel Assault II issues with PS3

Posted: 25 Oct 2021 12:48 PM PDT

The menus work fine but any FMV flickers really bad with only the left 1/4 of the screen actually viewable. The disc is a bit scratched but not severe. Is this a compatibility issue or could scratches cause this? The sound is fine as well.
