How to force an ally's units off my ship

Posted: 29 Sep 2021 01:57 AM PDT

Sometimes, an allied nation will load their units onto one of my ships. This could disrupt my plans, as their units take up space that I would rather use to transport my own units. Short of cancelling the alliance, is there a way to force an allied player's units off my ship?

Do "timed hits" with the X button in Super Mario RPG influence the likelihood of freebies?

Posted: 28 Sep 2021 11:37 PM PDT

A "timed hit" in Super Mario RPG consists of pressing the Attack (A) or Defend (B) buttons just before a hit lands; this results in an attack doing more damage, or incoming damage being reduced or zeroed entirely. Even the Special (Y) button has a hidden timed hit or two (for instance, timing Geno Whirl correctly results in a 9999-damage attack).

That just leaves Item (X).

It feels like pressing X again just before an item is used (some time between when the item raises up from the character and when the effect happens) increases the likelihood that you will "Get a freebie!", where the item will be used, but it won't be consumed from your inventory.

But, for all I know, this is a placebo effect.

Do timed hits on the Item button actually make freebies more likely?

How do I remove the overuse of iron penalty?

Posted: 28 Sep 2021 08:55 PM PDT

In Civilization 5, I used more iron than I had access to. (I maxed out my actual iron by building swordsmen, and then I built the Terracotta Army, which gave me a bonus swordsman, putting me at -1 iron.) The game then began showing me this symbol and warning on every turn:

The over-allocated iron warning

The text of the warning reads:

You are currently using more Iron than you have! All units which require it will fight much less effectively.

A few turns later I researched gunpowder and upgraded some of my swordsmen, so I'm no longer using as much iron as I was before. The strategic resources tooltip verifies that I'm using less than my max:

Strategic resources tooltip showing 1 iron used, 4 total

However, the resource overallocation warning still shows on every turn. How do I get rid of this penalty?

How do I start Echoes of the Eye after finding the radio tower?

Posted: 28 Sep 2021 04:52 PM PDT

After purchasing the Echoes of the Eye DLC for Outer Wilds, a new museum exhibit was added showing a radio tower and a deep space satellite. I found the radio tower and the satellite, but I can't figure out what to do next to start the DLC.

What am I supposed to do after finding the radio tower and satellite?

How is switching between the legacy and the new graphics implemented in Diablo II: Resurrected?

Posted: 28 Sep 2021 03:39 PM PDT

Is it possible due to the completely deterministic game engine which runs underneath - they run both games under the hood but share all keys that you pressed between them - so that they are always at the same game state? Or do they simply run two layers of graphics rendering based on your current game state?

What carries over from a Chapter 1 save file into Chapter 2?

Posted: 28 Sep 2021 12:14 PM PDT

In the menu for Deltarune Chapter 2, there's an option to import a save file from Chapter 1. Unfortunately, I no longer have my Chapter 1 save.

What changes occur in Chapter 2 if you have a save file from Chapter 1?

Do higher levels of resource gathering actually grant me more resources, or just faster resources?

Posted: 28 Sep 2021 11:42 PM PDT

In Dice Legacy, there are worker positions with a small x on them, which say "Result is influenced by face level." If I put a tool face with a 2 or 3 on it in such a position, I'll get more resources.

But what does that actually mean? Any given resource space has a limit, indicated by the big red number (18 in the picture below).

If I put a tool (3) die face on this spot, do I get 3 resources while it only takes 1 from 18? Or does the 18 become 15, indicating that I'm not getting more resources, but only faster resources from the limited amount available?

Can i import villager trading values to another player/level.dat?

Posted: 28 Sep 2021 05:04 PM PDT

I had to make a villager hall on my survival world and notice that i was on the world with the wrong account and switched my account, when i loaded up the world i had the same items, everything looks like normal, but the prices that villagers gave me for healing them disappeared and my tames like dogs and cats doesnt sit/wander when i order to. I thought it might be because of my player.dat/level.dat and i could just ctrl-c ctrl-v something using NBTexplorer or Universal Mine editor but i dont know what i am supposed to search for and if it is possible, help?

Increase KSP tooltip text size?

Posted: 28 Sep 2021 07:31 AM PDT

When playing in larger resolutions, UI elements become tiny in KSP. Luckily, with UI Scale and App Scale, things can be increased to a useable size.

However, the tooltips on orbits (e.g. for periapsis/apoapsis/distance informations) remain tiny. Even worse, the large cursor now obstructs most of the text and I often cannot read it.

Is there a way (config, mod) to increase these tooltip text sizes or to show them elsewhere?

How do I evade the stream of bullets from a Kerberonyx

Posted: 28 Sep 2021 04:00 PM PDT

I'm having a bit of a hard time with one particular enemy type, I'm pretty sure it's the Kerberonyx. Big, orange and spews a long stream of red bullets.

I find evading their attacks to be particularly difficult. Dashing through it doesn't seem to work reliably, the stream of bullets lasts long enough that it'll usually hit me after dashing while the dash is still on cooldown. Just sprinting sideways also isn't fast enough when they sweep with their attack. The only thing that works somewhat for me is hiding behind pillars, but that isn't always possible.

Any tips on how to deal with this enemy type?

How do you make a value-dependent variable scoreboard objective? (Command Blocks, 1.16.5)

Posted: 28 Sep 2021 01:00 PM PDT

It's a bit difficult to explain in the title - basically, what I'm doing is making a Red vs. Blue team game that's almost completely powered by command blocks for its inner workings. A friend of mine helped me with the start, but he's become burned out and has shown me how a lot of it works so far so that I can continue it on my own.

The gamemode puts people in a small arena separated by a wall cutting off the entire middle, where people fight it out after the walls fall in a certain amount of time. Command blocks power most of it, but there's also an operator that controls a panel above the arena. I could just have the operator press a button to trigger some command blocks to say a team has won, but I want to cut out as much of this manual operation as possible.

The teams win via a kill requirement that varies based on how many teammates there are. Teams are selected evenly, but there can be times when there is an extra member on one of the two teams due to it not being even. This is fine, as the win requirement is that teams must get to 5 kills per person on the team. If there were 7 people on a team, it would require 35 kills to win. If the other team had 6 people, it would require 30 kills.

My problem: I've already worked out the combined number of kills. I don't know how to set a variable based on the number of players on the team, which (once the requirements are met) then triggers a series of command blocks to say a team has won.

It should also be noted that this is being done on a 1.16.5 (latest) Paper server with EssentialsX, WorldGuard, and some other QoL plugins.

TL;DR - Need a command, based on a # of teammates on one of two teams, that determines a playercount-based win requirement of kills.

How does Papers, Please decide when to offer better apartments?

Posted: 29 Sep 2021 01:51 AM PDT

Story

During the course of the Story mode on Papers, Please, better apartments are offered to you at different points. Apartments don't serve any monetary advantage, and are only there to create some realism in the game.

Problem

There is already common knowledge of the earliest days each class of apartment becomes available, but depending on your current amount of money and previous decisions, sometimes new apartments aren't offered to you at the earliest they become available. Game documentation only states that new apartments become available "occasionally," but don't give any detail on that.

Core question

What is the criteria the game has in order to offer you better apartments, and what can I do to ensure that I will be offered a new apartment at the earliest point in time possible?

Where are Minecraft: Education Edition files stored?

Posted: 28 Sep 2021 01:55 PM PDT

We all know where Minecraft: Java Edition files are stored (Windows 10):

C:\Users\ExpertCoder14\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\saves

It's a little harder to find, but Bedrock Edition players can find their world saves here:

C:\Users\ExpertCoder14\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.MinecraftUWP_8wekyb3d8bbwe\games\com.mojang\minecraftWorlds

Surprisingly, there is no documentation online found on where files are stored for Minecraft: Education Edition.

I would expect, since MCEE is based off of MCBE, the files are stored as another folder in Packages:

C:\Users\ExpertCoder14\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.MinecraftEducationEdition

or something of the like.

But I don't see an extra folder for MCEE there.

If not there, then where?

Creating a quest, problem with chips for pass weapons from subroom to subroom

Posted: 28 Sep 2021 12:02 PM PDT

We are a bunch of fans of rec room and we want to have our own quest, but... sadly there must be something we are not doing right, because is not working. What we need is to spawn weapons in one subroom, but we have a big problem.

First in the lobby, I store the ID of the gun in the leaderboard, and that's fine. The problem begins when I enter the next subroom and the object respawner doesn't spawn the gun that I had in the previous room.

It looks like the ID object change and it doesn't drop the item I want. I have no idea of what to do to spawn the object I had in the previous room.

In the lobby, I use a trigger zone (for objects) (when entering) goes to a random chip to the 3 channels RGB. This gives to me the Object ID and goes to the set leaderboard chip (Value) B channel, and goes to the object mapper R channel. Then this goes to R channel from set leaderboard chip; in the set leaderboard chip the G channel is 1. (this is all ok)

In the next subroom I have a push button R channel goes to Get Leaderboard stat Chip, in this chip the G channel is 1 and from the output the B channel goes to Object Respawner (G channel (ID Object)). This is the wrong part because it doesn't give me the gun from the previous subroom.

I add some images to let you see it better.

What are the differences between the Wii and Xbox One/PS4/Switch versions of Just Dance Games?

Posted: 28 Sep 2021 10:06 AM PDT

I was wondering what are the differences between the Wii and Xbox One/PlayStation 4/Switch releases of Just Dance Games that are stipped down (2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020) when compared to the other consoles.

The stripped down Wii releases are the ones that have this style of menu that is different than the other console releases:

The case of the dead sheep

Posted: 29 Sep 2021 02:12 AM PDT

I have four compact wool farms, each of which features a sheep of a different color standing in a 1x1x2 area, completely enclosed with glass blocks, except for the bottom block which is obviously a grass/dirt block. The wool is collected by a hopper in a minecart underneath the grass block and moved into a chest. One day, I come back to the farm to find one of the sheep missing. I jumped around the glass blocks to make sure I hadn't forgotten to cover any sides which could potentially let the sheep escape. The 1x1x2 area where the sheep used to live was completely covered from all sides. Then I opened the chest. In it I found not only wool, but also two cooked mutton. This means my cheep has died of fire. So, what could have potentially killed my sheep?

I've had the following theories

  • Some mob spawned inside the 1x1x2 area where the sheep was. However, I find this unlikely because the glass block above the sheep has a torch placed on it, so the light level inside the enclosure is 12 or 13. I don't imagine any nether creatures spawning in the overworld which are the only ones that could kill something with fire.

  • Lightning? But then my sheep is enclosed in glass and under a roof. Glass protects from lightning, doesn't it? If it doesn't, and my sheep was in fact killed by a lightning bolt, how could one farm sheep safely? The reason I my roof is made of glass is that the wiki says that grass cannot grow under solid or light-blocking blocks and:

Grass can grow under all other transparent blocks, like glass, fences, torches, or pistons.

PC joystick doesn't work for Sekiro

Posted: 28 Sep 2021 10:03 AM PDT

I have Sekiro Shadows Die Twice on my PC. OS is windows 8.1. In game's setting there are 2 sections -- one for keyboard key binding and the other for joystick key binding.
I attached my joystick and when I wanted to play only the left analog worked. I know there's nothing wrong with the joystick because I've played games with it before. What should I do?
Does it need specific settings or program or something?
When I play with the keyboard sometimes I get so excited and press the wrong key and one little mistake in this game will kill you.

How do I remove torches upon death?

Posted: 28 Sep 2021 11:01 AM PDT

I'm trying to find a way to set up some command blocks in bedrock edition so that when a player dies, torches are cleared from a certain area.

So far, I have this:

All chain command (cc) blocks and all always active, requiring no redstone

cc1: /scoreboard objectives add hasDied dummy (unconditional)

cc2: /testfor @a[score_hasDied_min=1] (conditional)

cc3: /scoreboard players set @a hasDied 0

cc4: /fill -14 27 74 95 35 270 minecraft:air 0 destroy minecraft:torch 1

How do I get "The Full Truth" achievement?

Posted: 28 Sep 2021 10:02 AM PDT

I got stuck in this last achievement of mine.
From some reason, I can't get to ask the 5th question "How did I get here?".
I think I did everything I need in order to see it:
I asked 3 of the questions in the cave of truth, and another one in the ####### option at act 2, and now I think I should find the last one in act 3 in the hidden area of the butterflies puzzle.
But I still getting only the 3 questions I saw in the cave.
What should I do?

minecraft model rotate on direction placed

Posted: 28 Sep 2021 09:08 AM PDT

I am sure it has been somewhere already answered, I just couldn't find any good answers. I am trying to make a model that rotates based on which direction you place it. For example stairs, if you put it on south it is facing south etc.

Is it possible to make a model with this behavior on block like stone or must it me block with these behaviors already set like stairs?

As you can see on the image below, the stairs can be placed, and the model will change direction based of how you place them. I am asking if this is possible to make with non-orienting block like stone, dirt etc.

Accessing south Crestwood, Dragon Age Inquisition

Posted: 28 Sep 2021 10:03 AM PDT

Can someone please help me make this game a bit less infuriating and time-wasting than it is, by explaining how I can gain access to the southern part of Crestwood? I'm trying to do "Here Lies the Abyss", and cannot go remotely close enough for the walkthrough videos to be useful—they assume that I already arrived at Hawke's spot.

Here is a screenshot of the zone's map for me with the fog-of-war I couldn't access:
