Are long roads worth it it over trains?

I have a bunch of towns. All of them currently have busses. A few have some trams as well. They are in a somewhat large area. Does it make sense to have busses run between the towns on roads rather than trains? (I'm using Open GFX+ for both trains & road vehicles.)

Is "Slash/Crush" damage equivalent to "Slash or Crush" damage?

In Pillars of Eternity (the first one, PC via Steam, all DLCs owned but playing the vanilla game), one of the loading screen tips includes the following useful information:

Any weapon that lists a damage type like "Slash or Crush" will do whatever damage type is more advantageous, usually whatever type the target is most vulnerable to.

This is an extremely helpful bit of advice ... except I've never seen any weapon show their damage as "slash or crush". However what I have seen is weapons indicating that their damage is "slash/crash".

Here is an example of a weapon, the unique great sword "Justice", which has "Slash/Pierce" damage. I've got both the weapon details and the popup description visible in this screenshot snippet. Both show that the weapon damage is listed as "19-27 Slash/Pierce Damage".

Are these weapons that show multiple damage types separated by the / character the ones that the loading screen tip were referring to? That is, does the weapon with "slash/pierce" damage displayed here do either slash or pierce, whichever the enemy has lower defenses against? Or does the "/" mean something else ("and"?) and the tooltip is referring to a different set of weapons?

Where is a safe place that I can use to store my stuff as I go through the game? I haven't come across any base or player owned property so far that I can call my own and I'm starting to get weighed down with a few heavy things that I want to keep for later (mostly exo suit parts).

How does Genshin Impact judge area completion percentage?

When zooming the world map out a bit, smaller places are merged into a location with a completion percentage. I've noticed that these percentages are part of the Travelers reputation in that region.

Here is an example of two locations in Mondstadt

Simulate TNT and fireballs

For a bedwars Minigame in vanilla I need TNT and fireballs, but they should only break certain blocks and deal damage. For the TNT I have this:

execute as @e[type=tnt,nbt={Fuse:1s}] at @a run function tnt_blocks  execute as @e[type=tnt,nbt={Fuse:1s}] at @a run summon creeper ~ ~ ~ {Fuse:0}  execute as @e[type=tnt,nbt={Fuse:1s}] at @a run kill @s  

But I don't know how to do the block part. Does anyone have an idea how this can be efficiently and realistically done?

The second thing is the fireball. It should break only wool, deal a bit of damage and bounce the player up. But when I use the creeper-method, the player will die instantly. But that's not what I want...

Roblox for Linux not working

I know that Roblox is made for Windows, but I didn't want to spend time installing it on my PC that already runs Linux perfectly fine. I did some research and found that I needed to install something called Grapevine (for Wine) to run Roblox. It's installed and everything, but I still can't play.

If I try to launch from the browser, it just throws the "You're almost ready to play, install Roblox here" junk.

If I launch the installed app, it loads, but when I try to log in, it tells me "an unexpected error occurred, try again later."

What did I do wrong?


Note: I don't currently have access to my PC right now, so I can't provide any commands, files, or computer specifications; I also don't remember the site I visited to install Grapevine.

Teleport Command in minecraft ps4

I'm attempting to run a repeat command that will move an armour stand 1 block on the x axis, but when I put

/tp @e[type=armor_stand] ~1 ~ ~  

it does not move it 1 block from the entity, but instead moves it 1 block from where the command is executed. So seems that ~ functions differently on PS4 than on PC.

Is there a way to remedy this on PS4?

Merging two Minecraft map's chunks, one with builds and another just the terrain

I made a Minecraft map in worldpainter, exported it and got it on a server, then we built some mines in a small part of the map. However, we found that some parts of the map probably got corrupted and there were a lot of empty chunks.

I still have the unbuilt version of map and want to just add the missing chunks back to the map with builds, and MCEdit is giving me a lot of errors.

Is there any other way of doing it?

Help With Joining Minecraft LAN

My sister and I have been trying to join each other on a LAN Minecraft Bedrock world. She uses a school IPad and I use a regular one. We get on the same network, and we're friended on Xbox, but it always says "unable to join." The weirdest part about it is whenever we're playing with friends, we're both always able to join their worlds, but never our own! If one of my friends is on my world, then she can join, but when they aren't she can't. It's super annoying, and if someone has a solution it would be greatly appreciated.

How can I make a command block kick specific player on their death?

I am trying to make command blocks kick me when I die on a multiplayer server I own, running 1.17.1, I have been trying to figure this out for an hour now and still have not gotten this to work.

before posting this question I have tried adding myself to a team then checking if that team has died using execute at @a[team=ryan,scores={deaths=1..}] in a repeat command block.

I then had that command block run into a chain command block containing the command scoreboard players reset @a[team=ryan,scores={deaths=0..}] deaths using this to reset the deathCount score back to 0.

This command then ran into a impulse command block containing kick (playername)

I will put some images of the command blocks in case I have a typo and to give a better understanding of what I am doing.

Minecraft Migration Cape Chances of Getting it

Most of my friends have gotten the Minecraft migration cape and I'm still waiting on mine. I was wondering what are the chances to get picked in one of the batches and be able to migrate? I know this question requires some math to solve so that's exactly why I came here to ask it.

How do I make item frames unbreakable in Adventure Mode without locking the item inside?

I'm trying to make a map and the players in adventure mode can break item frames, so I'm trying to change that.

I've searched it up and both the Invulnerable tag and the Fixed tag don't work for me, because the item frame becomes unbreakable, but it also prevents the item from being removed.

I want to make the item frame unbreakable, but I want to be able to take the item in Adventure mode. How can I do this?

Entity skins not varying at spawn time?

I'm trying to replicate the behavior that skins cats with my own entity. After some digging through the resource pack, I've learned that that the texture of the cat is determined from two points:

  • An array defining the name of the texture to use (or so it seems).
  • An array defining where each texture is located.

The first array is located in the render controller for the cat entity, and I've copied and simply adjusted the controller with respect to my custom entity:

With that in mind, I believe I may just be missing a crucial step to the process for making query.variant work. I changed it to math.random(0, 4) and I get a constantly changing wolf texture in game. While it's fun to look at, it's not what I'm trying to achieve. The goal is to replicate the skin effect we see with spawning cats where their skin changes with each cat spawned.

Minecraft Update Stuck

When i install minecraft 1.16.5 update, it gets stuck at "downloading rt.jar". I even deleted .minecraft and installed it again but it got stuck again. Theres nothing wrong with my internet and i even turned off every vpn and antivirus. It still gets stuck at "rt.jar". What do i do to fix it? Any ideas?

I already authenticated with https://authserver.mojang.com/authenticate, and now I want to run a terminal command which opens Minecraft given the username/password or access token.

How to trigger vendors giving level-matched equipment in the Holodome and Claptrap, before Regolith Range?

Somehow I did it without entering Regolith Range, presumably by just getting to level 8?

I tried the dialogue of Zarpedeon provoking Deadlift to stop the Vault Hunters, and Claptrap's Consciousness after meeting SYS_ADMIN...

Then getting Grenade and Class Mods from Glitch Chests...

Neither changed the vendors' levels...

Is it really getting to Level 8? Or is it something else? I got the Out With A Bang LV5 Challenge, for instance.

Changing Minecraft entity rendering distance

I've noticed that, on some various servers I play on, entities are not rendered even if I am a short distance away, like ~40 blocks. Other servers I play on seem to be capable of rendering entities at enormous distances. I don't believe it's a server performance thing, as some of the more higher-performance networks I've been on, like Hypixel, have this short render distance as well.

Is there a way to edit this distance? It'd improve various aspects of my gameplay.

possibly related: yesterday, when setting up a small Spigot server on my computer, I noticed "view-distance" (or a similar name) in the server.properties file. Is this the entity render distance? It most likely isn't the regular render distance, because that's easily changeable on clientside from player to player.

Is there a way to tell which Stone of Barenziah is found where?

I'm trying to finish the "No Stone Unturned" quest and have so far found 22 of the 24 stones. Since I have yet to purchase Proudspire Manor and I haven't been in there by any other means I know where to find at least on of the two remaining stones.

I picked up 9 of the stones during other quests, but have not recorded their location myself so I used the UESP list found in the accepted answer in the question Where are all the Stones of Barenziah located? (No Stone Unturned) to try and track the others.

Having been to all the locations (except Proudspire Manor) on the list I am still short one stone. I expected to find it in the Thalmor Embassy but I cannot enter it. This should be fixed with patch 1.4 but I cannot find it in the Reeking Cave either.

So is there a way to tell which Stone of Barenziah in your inventory is found where so I either have some closure on this? Note that I play the game on the XBox so I have no access to game data or the in-game console.

Can't get the Key To The City achievement (100% completion) in GTA IV

I'm trying to get 100% on GTA IV to get the Keys To The City achievement but I'm stuck at 95%.

I saw that some people are stuck at 99.5% and they said this half percentage point is a random encounter.
