First ever secondary fire

Posted: 17 Sep 2021 03:47 AM PDT

What was the first ever first person shooter to feature a secondary fire mode? I can think of a couple of 1997 examples (Outlaws, Blood) but I wouldn't be surprised if it had been done a year or two earlier. I think Duke Nukem 3D had a secondary fire for throwing additional pipe bombs, but I'm not sure that really qualifies.

How can I move controller bindings between DCS on different PCs?

Posted: 17 Sep 2021 01:36 AM PDT

Is there a way to move DCS controller bindings between computers without doing it individually aircraft-by-aircraft and controller-by-controller using "Save profile as" and "Load profile"?

How to defeat a Fatui Skirmisher - Cryogunner Legionnaire?

Posted: 17 Sep 2021 01:42 AM PDT

My main team is Keqing, Beidou, Chongyun and Barbara, so mostly Electro.

When I am doing a quest and the dialog leads me to fighting the Fatui, often one of these chaps is in the group.

Fatui Skirmisher - Cryogunner Legionnaire

It's my understanding the best way to break the cryo shield is to cause a reaction with it, however, Hydro and Electro do cause reactions but don't seem to take the shield away.

This means I have to just tank the enemy with food and attack it with physical damage until it dies. I am in combat so I'm unable to swap my team members.

Do these enemies really require having a Pyro hero in your team? Or is the only real option I have to waypoint away, change my team and return to the area?

Is there any benefit to using quick chat with the bots in Left 4 Dead 2?

Posted: 16 Sep 2021 01:34 PM PDT

In Left 4 Dead 2 you can make your character speak by clicking in the thumbstick on controller, or pressing Z or X when using a keyboard.

When looking at an item the quick voice line changes from generic "look" to a more specific "ammo here", "weapons here" or similar. This can be useful on multiplayer campaigns where it can be used to communicate with other players if a microphone isn't available.

But on single player campaigns it doesn't seem to serve a purpose. Identifying an object doesn't immediately give a voice response and there isn't much else in the way of feedback.

Is there any benefit to using quick chat in single player?

How could I report players who pinged me to make me disconnect?

Posted: 16 Sep 2021 04:23 PM PDT

I asked my team to not ping me as I would lag and then they all purposefully pinged me I disconnected and ended up with an abandon due to the excessive pings. I would Like to report these individuals as toxic and upsetting. I was unable to report afterwards because I was the one who abandoned.

Ps4 controller randomly stops working

Posted: 16 Sep 2021 03:28 PM PDT

My PS4 and controller I bought 7 months ago have been fine until yesterday. The PS4 did a system update, and after that I downloaded and installed Fallout 4 from the disk. This is when the problem started.

Within 5 minutes of playing, my controller just stopped working. The light remained on and there was no error message, no internet disconnection, and no matter what button I pressed on the PS4 there was no response. I read online troubleshooting suggestions and half the time, if I reset my controller, it will work for a short time then back to no response. The other half of the time it remains unresponsive. The only time it seems to always work is when my PS4 is off and I use the PlayStation button to power on PS4.

Any suggestions to get back to playing?

I am trying to make a Dead by daylight map in Minecraft. When a player hits something they should get slowness and blindness for 5 seconds, but I don't know the commands necessary to do this.

Can someone help me please?

Which maps and locations are these operator art images from?

Posted: 16 Sep 2021 01:04 PM PDT

Apparently a Rainbow 6 banner is coming soon to Arknights with 4 new operators. Having played Rainbow 6 in the past some of the locations that are shown here are familiar to me and the others are not so familiar. Hoping to get an exact clarification of which sites specifically these are supposed to be based off?

It's Yacht, but I don't know which floor it is. With all the electronics it kind of reminds me of the basement level. enter image description here

Appears to be Kafe Dostoyevsky, the 2nd floor bookcase room I believe? enter image description here

This one is the most obvious but I could still be very wrong, it appears to be the Clubhouse 1st floor bar enter image description here

Not sure of this one entirely. Looks like it could be Hereford, Embassy, Bank, or any other map with a darker theme enter image description here

This one I think is Kafe, 3rd floor, piano room? enter image description here

Adding distance in the data command makes the command fail

Posted: 16 Sep 2021 10:05 AM PDT

I'm trying to making the command block detect the dragon phase within 100 blocks using this command:

execute store result score @a Dragon run data get entity @e[type=minecraft:ender_dragon,limit=1,sort=nearest,distance=1..100] DragonPhase

For some reason, it doesn't work because of distance=..100 and it works when I remove it. Any ideas what is causing this issue?

Is there any reason not to sell money pins?

Posted: 16 Sep 2021 04:45 PM PDT

In the original The World Ends With You, it was often worth holding on to a few money pins instead of selling them, as they were needed to trade for certain quest items. I was following the same plan in NEO: The World Ends With You until I saw there was an unlockable ability called "ShibuPay Autoload" that automatically sells money pins as soon as you get them.

Is there any reason to hold on to money pins in NEO: TWEWY? Or are they safe to sell immediately?

How can I stop Minecraft Launcher from requiring Microsoft sign-in every launch?

Posted: 16 Sep 2021 12:40 PM PDT

My son plays Minecraft Java Edition on Kubuntu 20.04. Up until recently (a couple weeks ago), it would always log him in automatically. Then, it stopped doing this, and prompted him to choose "Microsoft account" or "Mojang account."

Also, in the course of trying to sign in with the Microsoft account, "X" would pop up a zillion messages saying "the password you use to log into your computer no longer matches that of your login keyring." (No, the unix login password was never changed.) I got rid of those messages by deleting (actually moving aside) the file ~/.local/share/keyrings/login.keyring; the next time we logged him into the Minecraft launcher with the Microsoft account there was a system prompt to enter a password with which to create a new default keyring, so we put in his unix login password for that on the basis of the earlier error message. (The new keyring had "Default" in the name; it wasn't called "login.keyring" anymore but I don't think that's important.)

This seemed to work fine, the launcher showed his Minecraft name in the list and after clicking it, he got the normal launcher screen with a big "play" button.

However, I wanted to test further so I logged out of his Linux account and logged in again. After that, starting the Minecraft launcher newly again showed the "Mojang account" or "Microsoft account" choice, i.e. he wasn't kept logged in. Maybe the keyring wasn't unlocked?

Does anyone know how to permanently resolve this? So far as I can tell nothing was changed locally between the time when it was auto-logging him in and the time when it started prompting for Microsoft sign-in every launch.

(Although, one thing that occurs to me is that it's very rare for him to log out of the Linux account rather than just lock it and put the computer to sleep, so maybe there's some step that needs to happen to unlock the keyring after he logs in? But I don't recall ever doing that before, and he's played for months; I don't think two weeks ago was the first time he's signed out the Linux account since starting Minecraft for the first time.)

Is there any possible way to obtain Mew in Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, or Emerald?

Posted: 16 Sep 2021 06:07 PM PDT

I have been informed that you can't trade Pokémon from Original Gen 1 and Original Gen 2 to Original Gen 3, so I am wondering how I can obtain a Mew in the Original Gen 3 games, even if it's through glitches. I really want a Mew, so I was wondering how to obtain one from Faraway Island as Gameshark Mew doesn't obey. That is, until I realized the Mew event ended quite a while ago. So, I wish to know how to get it, and if you can even.

How did I break the fabric of time?

Posted: 17 Sep 2021 04:51 AM PDT

First of all, I've already finished the game before, so theirs no worry of spoilers. So, I revisited the Ash twin project, took the core out, realized that I didn't have enough time to do anything with it, so I put it back and waited for the sun to explode. When it did, the core warped me to the beginning of the loop again. I decided to go to Dark Bramble to find the Easter egg, but got eaten by an anglerfish. I got informed that I had broken the fabric of time, and got the "You've met a terrible fate" achievement. Then the credits started with Kazoo music. I'm terribly confused, how did I end the loop? The core is still in the ATP, so how did dying end the loop? Is this a bug?

Cannot pass Ruins Top level on Lugaru HD

I'm playing Lugaru HD on Fedora 33 (Linux).

There is a really hard level on Temple map. I can't found any way to go to rabbits on top. To understand, please watch my video.

If you look the map in game, you can see enemies in top.

Escape from Monkey Island - "ScummVM could not find any game in the specified directory!"

Posted: 16 Sep 2021 11:32 PM PDT

I tried to get Monkey Island 4 running using ScummVM, but it always claims that there is no game:

  • Android 2.2.1pre "ScummVM could not find any game in the specified directory!"
  • Linux Snap 2.2.0 "ScummVM konnte im gewählten Verzeichnis kein Spiel finden!"

enter image description here

I probably misunderstood the documentation which files should be copied. If there is anybody out there who got this working, could you please share your file tree with me?

How can I remove arrows stuck in a player?

Posted: 16 Sep 2021 03:21 PM PDT

When I am shot by an arrow in Minecraft, my avatar now has an arrow sticking out of me which hangs around for a while before disappearing. This is fine right now, but when I am trialing one of my redstone arrow traps, my MC avatar can look a little like this:

My body with arrows in it

Now I don't care about this when in singleplayer, because they don't block my vision when in 1st person. But I'm going to go into multiplayer soon, and having a bunch of arrows in my body will make me look hideous, and I'll be the laughingstock of all my friends if they see my with all these arrows.

I'd like any solution, whether it involves commands or glitches, or some hidden hack that I didn't know of, to get rid of these horrid arrows stuck in my body on my command, or better, to stop them from getting stuck on me in the first place!

Past trials

Could killing the arrow entities work?

/kill @e[type=arrow]

Could clearing my inventory work?

/clear @s arrow /clear @s

What is the purpose of those friendly big plant looking creatures?

Posted: 16 Sep 2021 01:36 PM PDT

Not sure how best to describe them. There is a big momma type one and 2-3 baby ones. They look like big fat plants and they have a creepy love towards me. If you hit them they say something like "ouch, but we still love you".

  1. Can they be killed?
  2. Is there any negatives to killing them?
  3. Is there any positives for leaving them be?

Basically, they take up a lot of prime real estate that I would prefer to use for something else. But I feel bad when I accidentally hit them so I haven't tried to kill them (plus I don't want to lock out any potential reward).

Minecraft accounts are blended. How can i separate them?

Posted: 16 Sep 2021 06:47 AM PDT

I just purchased a Minecraft Java account for my son on our home computer. My step-son has an account that was purchased at his mother's house that he accesses on our computer when he is with us. When I attempt to access Minecraft for my son (separate email address, different username) my step-son's worlds show up. How do I get it so my son can access his own worlds?

What are the flags behind the animal king?

animal king takeover

In this image we see six flags behind the animal king. I think I recognize some of them: First - Argentina; Third - Bulgaria; Fifth - Sweden; Sixth - Austria;

Am I correct, and which countries' flags are the second and fourth?

Is destiny bond a priority move?

I am in the process of building a troll Wobafet, and I want him to know destiny bond for obvious reasons. Is this move a priority move? Or do I have to go first naturally.

How can I win the Seacrest Tour event in Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit?

Posted: 16 Sep 2021 02:09 PM PDT

How can I win the Seacrest Tour event, or at least get bronze?

I've tried this event many times, the best I've managed is 4th. I'd particularly like help on these specific points:

  • Which car should I use? The Bugatti Veyron looks the best option from the stats, but should I try something else?

  • How can I avoid crashing? I often fail to finish because I wreck my car.

  • Should I be taking shortcuts? If so, which ones?

  • In the Freeway sections, should I drive on the correct side of the road or try to earn boost by driving into oncoming traffic?

How do I get more Oran berries in Pokemon Heart Gold or Soul Silver?

Posted: 16 Sep 2021 11:42 PM PDT

How do I get more Oran Berries in Pokemon Heart Gold or Soul Silver to cure the Miltank above Olivine City from its illness? I did not create more Oran berries in my berry pots and have run out of my initial batch. Is there a Pokemon that might be holding it if I catch it?
