You can establish your audience in Mailchimp by importing contacts you already have, or by using our tools to create a new one. Here are some tips to keep in mind as you get started:

Put all your contacts into a single audience so it's easier to understand your audience as a whole (and avoid counting the same contact more than once towards your contact limit).

Remember that your contacts can have different marketing statuses, including subscribed, non-subscribed, and unsubscribed. Some count towards your plan limit and others don't.

Tag contacts as you import them so you can target the right people with your campaigns.
