Cargo Plane vs Jewelry S tore (Mad City)

Posted: 18 Dec 2021 05:11 AM PST

In Roblox's mad city game, there are quite a few heists but I'm confused between the Jewelry Store and Cargo Plane heists. Both of them reward the same amount of cash (5k) so what's the big difference between them? Which one is better if I were to collect more cash?

Can run command for only one if score statement

Posted: 18 Dec 2021 07:07 AM PST

I am trying to make a voting system for difficulties in my Minecraft world. I have set up the command blocks that add the score for a fake player named #VoterDirector for each difficulty. To test if the voting works, I have set up a basic command that runs execute if score #VoterDirector Easy > #VoterDirector Normal run tellraw @a {"text":"easy wins"} The command block works successfully, but I want it to check if the Easy score is greater than all of the scores. This is where I am stuck. Adding another if score statement does not work. I have looked everywhere for a tutorial, but all of them were either outdated or Bedrock.

Are enchantment probabilities different depending on the tool?

Posted: 18 Dec 2021 05:13 AM PST

In Minecraft: Bedrock Edition, I am trying to get a toolsmith villager to offer a diamond pickaxe enchanted with Unbreaking 3, Fortune 2 and Efficiency 3. In at least a hundred attempts I have been unsuccessful but have gotten the same enchants on a shovel multiple times. Are the probabilities of getting the same enchantments on a pickaxe different/non existent or am I just extremely unlucky?

Free camera mode games for computer graphics course

Posted: 17 Dec 2021 07:39 PM PST

I'm teaching a computer graphics course, and a very valuable tool for understanding how graphics are used in practice is the free-camera mode, particularly something like NVIDIA's Ansel which pauses the game. I would like to demonstrate this during class on the school's lower-spec computers and have my students play around with this as well. As such, I am looking for a game which is:

  • Free
  • Low-spec, so I could expect my students to be able to run it
  • Has a free-camera mode
  • Demonstrates some interesting graphical effects

I've been looking through the free games on itch.io, but haven't found anything yet. I had particularly hoped something like Dr. Langeskov, The Tiger, and The Terribly Cursed Emerald: A Whirlwind Heist would have had such a free-camera mode, but alas no such luck.

How to find a specific slime chunk pattern in bedrock?

Piston priority is weird

Posted: 17 Dec 2021 03:54 PM PST

So, I have two pistons facing each other. Powering both at the same time from the side can give different results based on where it is being powered from. I have absolutly no clue on the pattern and how to use it.

How does it work? Here is an example of an experiment

enter image description here

enter image description here

As you can see, the center pistons are biased based on the side as well as the right one. The left one will have the same bias regardless of side powered.

I decided to make more tests and here are the results: enter image description here

Each line is a pair of pistons. There are two rows of experiments. The block above shows which side he is biased towards. Orange (Granite) means powered from the left side and andesite(Gray) is powered from the right.

For example, the top left most (First red stroke in next pic) has both blocks on top of each other, meaning regardless of side, the piston closer to the camera is powered.

enter image description here The three pistons from pic 1 one and 2 highlighted

And here is the question: How does this rule works? With all this experiment I got 0 answers. My goal is to have the far most piston from the source (Torch in case of pic 1 and 2) be activated first, always.

Do races have finite numbers of ships?

Posted: 17 Dec 2021 01:16 PM PST

Aside from the home planet encounters, which appear to have endless ships, a few questions:

  • Do races have a finite number of ships in their sphere of influence?
  • Will the sphere of influence shrink as I destroy more ships?
  • Is it possible to eliminate a race's sphere just by destroying all their ships?
  • Aside from gaining resources, is there any effect at all on the overall objective of the game by destroying ships?

Good items for Minecraft currency?

Posted: 17 Dec 2021 06:33 PM PST

So I'm trying to make a currency on this Minecraft server, and I don't quite know what to use.

In a discussion on what item to use, emerald came up. Emeralds are used by villagers, but are otherwise not a good idea. Farms can easily be used to produce them, and they are an unlimited resource.

Portal frames were also brought up. There are, at most, 4608 portal frame blocks in the entire world. The problem with that, however is that they can't be obtained in survival.

So this is what I'm looking for: a non-renewable item, with a finite amount of it in the whole world, unlike ores. Thanks for the help!

Is there a way in 1.18 to limit/kill mobs in forceloaded chunks (with a goal to minimize active entities and server lag)?

Posted: 18 Dec 2021 06:53 AM PST

BACKGROUND: I have a minecart rail line that services a few farms which are good distance from spawn (1400 blocks), picking things up and returning them to my storage (sorter). I've done /forceload on all the chunks comprising the minecart line which works great. The line runs continuously no matter where players are. However, I've noticed that the active entity count seems to me to be high (2.3K-2.6K) for just 1-2 players online, and also seeing some "can't keep up" messages on the Spigot 1.18 server. I've done all the server lag prevention I can find online short of using a plugin (e.g. composters on top of hopers, etc.). I think that I need to find a way to reduce the number of active entities in all those forceloaded chunks. Here is a recent Spigot timings paste with just 1 player online: https://www.spigotmc.org/go/timings?url=anitidizit . But still, I could be wrong on the cause of the lag, but the high entity count and related ticks in the timings jumped out at me.

OPTIONS I'M EXPLORING: I could run a command block every so often along the line that kills entities within a certain radius, but with a chunk now delving down to Y=-64, and my rail line being at Y=67, I would need to use a kill radius of something like 131 to get everything, which is quite a ways out on X,Z axis from the rail line, which is not very desirable. I'm also considering trying to ensure there are no dark caves or areas in the chunks to limit mob spawning, but that will be very time intensive given the large area.

QUESTION: I'm wondering if there is a way to either kill only mobs in a certain chunk, from the very top to the very bottom, or some other way to control/reduce the number of mobs along the rail line and in other chunks I've forceloaded (e.g. automated farms). I prefer a command block or configuration option, but I'm not completely opposed to a Spigot plugin.

Thanks.

Do free servers on https://aternos.org/ work?

Posted: 17 Dec 2021 06:25 PM PST

I am planning to get Minecraft Java edition, and I want to make my own server for free. I looked up "Free Minecraft Server" and went to https://aternos.org/. It advertises it is free, and I made an account. I'm just wondering if this works, without putting myself at risk and getting any kind of spyware, PUP, or malware on my computer. Please let me know if it works or not.

<Note: This is also on my Reddit account, but it is not spamming. I just wanted more people to see my question, so I also posted it here :)>

What does the Sold column in the Active Orders tab mean?

Posted: 17 Dec 2021 09:01 PM PST

I don't quite understand how the active orders tab of items you are selling on the market works. In particular, there is a "Sold" column, which for all of my active sell orders is the same quantity as the total quantity of the particular item I am trying to sell:

active orders

Is this a bug or am I misunderstanding this column somehow? To me, it would indicate that I have sold "X" amount of that item so far, but then why would it be in the Active Orders tab still and not in the Completed & Expired tab?

Accessing Steam Guard File

Posted: 17 Dec 2021 02:33 PM PST

I am trying to use a Python package from GitHub with which I can access many information on steam: . However, in order to log in, I would need to provide use the path to my "Steam Guard File".

Or get this information:

{      "steamid": "YOUR_STEAM_ID_64",      "shared_secret": "YOUR_SHARED_SECRET",      "identity_secret": "YOUR_IDENTITY_SECRET"  }

In order to access the information, I need to login using:

steam_client = SteamClient('MY_API_KEY')  steam_client.login('MY_USERNAME', 'MY_PASSWORD', 'PATH_TO_STEAMGUARD_FILE')

There was another site Github page recommended to access this information, but it was mainly for mobile Steam Guard and I use my email address.

Can anyone help me to access the path to this Steam Guard file or the information it contains?

Many thanks in advance!

In Minecraft bedrock can I create a function block that only executes another function once?

Posted: 18 Dec 2021 04:02 AM PST

In minecraft bedrock Im trying to execute a function if it has not yet been executed to initialize a build battle map. There is a command block with a button and the command it executes is "/function buildBattle". When I push the button the first time it should call the initialize function. If I push it again it should not.

buildBattle.mcfunction

#assume activeGame is not null for any user and is set to 0 somewhere else execute @p[scores={activeGame=0}] ~ ~ ~ function initialize

initialize.mcfunction

scoreboard players set @a activeGame 1 ...

My function logic is not exactly correct. If any player joins with an activeGame of 0 and pushes the button it will call the initialize function. Is there some other way to do this?

A detail picture or table showing what the symbols mean in the display in Age of Empires 2

Posted: 18 Dec 2021 12:07 AM PST

The question is about AoE2: the age of kings and the conquerors expansion (I think it's same for both). I am asking about these symbols:

enter image description here enter image description here

For example, the knife and armour symbols. I know the general information that they represent things like attack and melee/pierce armour, but is there a picture or a table that shows everything clearly and in detail? Like what does the 12+4 mean in the knife symbol, and how is it different from 16? Some units also have a red circle symbol (I think it's for ranged units). What do the numbers on that symbol mean?

Also, in the scenario editor I think they show the stats for these units a bit differently. I would like to know how the stats are shown in the scenario editor as well, but my main question is the meaning of all the symbols and numbers in the display in the main game.

Minecraft pe will not load

Posted: 17 Dec 2021 05:03 PM PST

I have been playing Minecraft pe for over two years now and it has become one of my most favorite games. I recently created a Xbox live account to be able to play on servers. Everything seemed fine until yesterday. Apple came out with a new version of iOS and I updated my device. Now, I can't load the game, the screen that says Minecraft after mojang goes to the last three or four bars then freezes. Nothing else happens. If I go to airplane mode I can launch the game but shortly after that it will crash. Does anyone know what's wrong?

Why am I unable to breed villagers in my setup? (1.8.8)

Posted: 18 Dec 2021 02:06 AM PST

I'm currently trying out villager breeding, and it's been an hour of me afking and hasn't gotten any new villagers (I started out with 6) l. They are in a room that's 19x19, and I am wanting to know if such a thing as "too big of a room" is possible for them to breed. There's doors on 3 of the walls and there's wheat on almost all the floor of the room, with a 2 block tall pillar over each water source block with torches (there's 9 water source blocks). Is there anything I'm doing wrong? Any advice will be appreciated

What are the timing and moves to get past the Mud Men in Dragon's Lair?

Posted: 17 Dec 2021 06:01 PM PST

I've been working on completing the arcade version of Dragon's Lair in my spare time over the last few weeks and I'm stuck on the Mud Men scene. Despite reading two or three walkthroughs that I've found on the internet, I simply can't get past the second move.

The walkthroughs generally suggest hitting SWORD when the Mud Men first appear and then pressing UP after Dirk sheaths his sword. The idea is that you should start hitting periodic UPs while they chase you to the end of the screen, but only moving once Dirk has a slight pause.

I've tried this several times and I simply can't get the first UP to work. Sword works, it bounces off the men, and then Dirk sheaths his sword. Hitting UP before he puts it away, while he's putting it away, or after he's done simply fails and I get pulled into the goop. Apparently the machine I'm playing has the difficulty set to EASY.

Walkthoughs referenced:

Any help on what I'm missing here?

Is it possible to control how you enter an island?

Posted: 17 Dec 2021 11:01 PM PST

When entering a new island, it seems that the bird is flying at different altitudes. Especially on one of the later islands, it is sometimes possible to perfectly enter a slope, while other times, it seems impossible for the same island.

Is it possible to somehow control this, or is it totally random?

Bulk activate product keys in Steam

Posted: 17 Dec 2021 05:01 PM PST

After purchasing the current Humble Bundle, I wondered if it was possible to activate all of the 6 games in Steam at once, without having to do a "Product Activation" for every game.

I could probably make a script, which does this automatically, however I was wondering if there already exists a way of doing it.

How can I use my gamepad trackball with Crysis 2 and Xpadder?

Posted: 17 Dec 2021 07:08 PM PST

I've recently installed Crysis 2 in my PC (Win7 x64bit). I wanted to use my joystick (a gamepad like the ones for the PlayStation) with the game.

So I've installed Xpadder to make the joystick available to the game. It works, but the trackball that comes with it won't work.

When I try to use the joystick, the keyword is replaced with the joystick, and that's fine, but I can't replace the mouse movements with the joystick (I can't move his head without the mouse).

I've tried disabling the mouse, but when I do that, there's no head movement at all.

How can I solve this?

Is it possible to queue multiple Steam games for installation in one action?

Posted: 18 Dec 2021 04:47 AM PST

When you buy multiple games in one purchase from Steam, you have the option to set them all to be installed, and the Steam client automatically queues them all at once.

However, Is there a way to do this manually? For example when you've just re-installed Steam, can you select your 30 favorite games, and click "Install" once? Installing each game individually can get really tedious.
