How to connect to Bedrock Server on Windows from WAN side?

My setup works fine on my LAN, and an online port checker says that my Minecraft server port is OPEN to the Internet.

  • Windows 10, with Minecraft bedrock server version = 1.18.1.02
  • The server has whitelist=false so any outside users should be welcome to join.
  • Minecraft players outside my LAN can see my server, including ping = 16ms.
    => This proves that my server is indeed responding, and my LAN port forwarding* is working!
  • But when these outside players then try to actually CONNECT to my world, THEN they get the message that they cannot connect.
  • The Minecraft server output correctly shows LAN activity but does not show anything at all about any outside connection attempts.

--> What do I need to do to make outside players connect to my world?

*My LAN port forwarding:

  • DSL modem is wide open, forwards everything to my gateway.
  • Gateway has explicit rule to forward the 4 minecraft ports to the LAN IP of my local server.
  • ports as reported by the Minecraft server output are 19132,19133,25565,59989.

In the new version of Quake on Steam, how do I change my player name?

My player name is the annoyingly generic "steamuser" and I can't find any setting to change it. In the non-Steam-ified version this was done in the Multiplayer menu under setup but that menu option does not exist here.

This is running on Linux and I get an error connecting to Bethesda.net every time I start the game, but it works fine in singleplayer at least (haven't tried multi). A guess might be that this Bethesda.net error is why I can't find the setting, but that is just a guess. So...

I'm new in the whole Minecraft Function stuff but I want to create a Function that should do something after a 3 second Countdown which appears as a title. I tried it with the /schedule command but it didn't actually work. Can someone help me with this?

I am in a normal survial world and I have a dog named Charles (name tag), I want to give him partical effets when he walks, attacks, and gets feed. I know you can give arrows and players effects but can't find anything about giving it to my dog. Can someone please help me?

Custom Armor Model in Minecraft Resource Pack

I made a custom chestplate model (JavaItem using BlockBench) with a view to replace the pre-existing netherite armor chestplate model. After exporting the model as .json file and saved it in my resouce pack, I then created a netherite_chestplate.json file with the following code inside

I went and tried the resoucepack out in the game. The results are insatisfactory as after I gave my self a netherite armor with {CustomModelData:3}, my model rendered while I am holding it as an item but not when I wear it on (it rendered as a vanilla neth armor); the model is a mere item held in hand, instead of an armor model which I can wear.

Am I doing anything wrong?

I've looked everywhere and the only answers I could find are related to placing new roads. Consequently I'm having to tear down existing highways and replace them with elevated highways.

What I want to do instead is simply elevate an existing highway so that the natural pathways remain intact.

Is it possible to copy game/app groups from one profile to another?

I created a few game/app groups under one of my kids' profiles to help "organize" the games and apps which they are allowed to use. However, I wasn't really paying close enough attention because I thought I was creating them under the "main" user. I spent several minutes organizing everything because I mistakenly thought I'd be looking at the setup every time I hit the Xbox button. Of course, the next time I got on the Xbox, all of the pins and such were missing and I realized what I had done.

So, as the title question asks, is there a "quick and easy" way to copy a game/app group I created (with all of its shortcuts) under one profile on my Xbox One to the other profiles so I don't have to go waste time doing it again?

Is it possible to take the badges out to look at them?

In the remakes you can pull badges out and rotate them around to look at them.

Is that a new feature for the remake, or can you do the same thing in the original DS versions?

How can I use my player data from one account in a different account?

A while ago, I asked this question about recovering my Minecraft/Microsoft account. The process seems like it will be quite time consuming, so I am considering getting a different account, and buying Minecraft again. I'd like to know how I can continue my old worlds on a new account (I have a Hardcore world that I would like to continue). I assume getting a new account will give me a new ID (Player IDs are used to name the playerdata files in worlds).

  • Can I run my previous Minecraft installation(s) with a new account?

  • Will I need to rename the dat files tn the playerdata folder with my new ID?

  • Is the format just "<id>.dat"?

  • Do I need to do anything else to move my player data to a new account?

  • Are there any known bugs/issues that doing this may cause?

  • Is it the same with servers and modded installations?

What does "in areas" distinguish in Atlas passives?

I've been getting some Atlas passives from Maven. Almost all passives contain the qualifier "in areas". What does this mean exactly? I have the following guesses:

  • In maps only
  • Not campaign or boss fights, like Maven herself
  • Only that section of the Atlas, like Heawark Hamlet
  • Maps that have the corresponding master mission active

I find the camera in Age of Empires IV to be a bit too close to the battlefield for my liking. for example, in the first Normans Campaign Mission, I struggled selecting my entire army at once when it was spread across the screen. Is there a way to increase this distance?

Is Pokémon Bank no longer usable?

I am trying to use Pokémon Bank on the 3DS to transfer Pokémon from Gen I VC and Gen V to Gen VII. I've never used it before and nothing about it seems to work as described on the internet:

  • Poké Transporter is not available on the eShop and I can't figure out any way to download it.
  • When I launch Pokémon Bank, it tells me there's no save data and asks me if I still want to transfer to Pokémon Home. The first time I said yes, it had me purchase a pass. Now when I say yes, it logs me in, then says I don't have any Pokémon to transfer and logs me back out.

As far as I can tell, Pokémon Bank now can only be used to transfer Pokémon that are already in Pokémon Bank to Pokémon Home, and has no other function. Am I missing something?

GTA V reverting cloud saves?

As I said in my last post, my cloud saves were behind on my missions. Since I play GTA V on Geforce Now, my data always gets erased to I rely on the cloud to save my games. However, I noticed that when I reinstalled the epic version of GTA V, the saves were behind a lot. So I played for a while more, and then reinstalled again, and then they were also behind.

But the thing is, I checked the social club before I installed it and it showed the right amount of progress, but when I installed gta the progress was reverted on both gta and social club! I'm wondering what's going on, and is there a way to solve this? Could it be a problem with the Epic games save?

1.8.8 Minecraft server won't run in Debian Linux

I'll make this simple.

I run small Minecraft servers on my Raspberry Pi 3B+, and it suffices for very small stuff, but I wanted more power. I grabbed an old Windows laptop that was picking up dust, wiped it, and installed Debian Linux. I copied over the Spigot server folder from my RPi into my laptop, and installed "identical" Java versions.

Running the server on the Pi has always worked flawlessly; however, when I transferred the files to my Debian, and ran them with Java, something strange happened. The server does claim to start, but when I ping the server in any way (By clicking the Refresh button on the servers page), the console SHOWERS ME in exceptions. They are all the exact same exception, but it spams it for a solid 2 or 3 minutes until I do Ctrl+C to make it stop.

I believe it's also worth mentioning that the server logs this to the console when ran on the laptop

I believed it may be an issue with Spigot, but it is not. I manually downloaded the vanilla 1.8.9 server.jar, and ran that alone, to no changes in results.

What could be going on here?

(The laptop in question is a Toshiba Satellite P875-S7200 running Debian 4.19.132-1 [2020-07-24] )

Explain the best Y level (height) for mining in Minecraft

I favor mining in straight, torch-lit tunnels. There aren't any mobs and it's easy to find my way back out. But I've never really been sure how deep I should go for the best results. I've seen all kinds of varying answers, but most of them don't come with any real explanation and almost none of them show their work.

To make the question more specific, these are the resources I'm usually hoping to find when I go to mine:

  • Diamonds for better equipment.
  • Lapis Lazuli for use in enchanting.
  • Iron for general use.
  • Gold (sometimes) when I want to make golden apples or trade with villagers/piglins.

I value them in roughly this order, though sometimes I want lapis more than diamonds when I really want to enchant some items.

I don't particularly care about:

  • Redstone because I have little use for it and I usually end up with plenty.
  • Coal because I usually have enough already.
  • Emeralds because I can get more by trading with villagers than by mining for them anyway.

So, what are the best Y levels to dig across in trying to get these resources, and why?

If I delete my bank does the Nintendo Network ID unlink? I want to transfer my Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon Pokémon to Sword and Shield.
And if I do delete my NNID, could I get games back by factory resetting?

How to activate commands around a tagged entity with command blocks?

So I am trying to set the score of a person within two blocks of a tagged armor stand, but the commands I thought would work don't.

I have tried

execute at @e[tag=GFlag] run scoreboard players add  @a[scores{dropFlag1.0=0},team=Red,distance=..2] 1

and

execute at @a[team=Red,scores={dropFlag1.0=0}] if entity @e[tag=GFlag,distance=..2] run scoreboard players add @a[team=Red,scores={dropFlag1.0=0}] 1

but neither has had the results I wanted.

Is there a penalty for not stopping at marshal?

In the majority or rally games the stage ends after crossing the finish line, but in Dirt 4's rally events it is required to stop the car at the marshal. It is however possible to whiz through the marshal area at full speed, resulting in a completed race. This of course allows finishing tracks faster, but is there any penalty for doing so? And can the car get damaged after the game takes control?

Download stuck at 100 mb every time

I downloaded 600mb Dota 2 the first time then paused and shut off my PC. The next day the download started from 100 mb. I resumed the download, it went till 800 mb, but the next day when I opened steam on offline mode it showed 1.6 GB downloaded. I restarted steam in online mode then it resumed from 200mb.

Clone command help wanted

I have created a Mech that I intend to make move using the clone command. I want to clone the position of the mech then make it appear a couple blocks in front of it. So far I can clone the mech but for some reason it won't appear in front it just says blocks cloned.This is the command I have. enter image description here

I have it so that it should go 10 blocks in the Z direction but it doesn't happen please help!

I can't see myself chat in Team Fortress 2

I was playing on a server the other day, and I could see myself speak. The next day, I went back on, and I could not. I can see everybody else talk, and they can still see me talk. I am running Team Fortress 2 on a Windows 7 PC.

How do I fix this problem?

Can I be with the StormCloaks, do "Season Unending" and AFTER the MQ line, finish the Civil War?

So, if I pick my side (Stormcloaks here) will I be able to do the Peace Truce ? Cause I would love to do it, but as soon as I killed Alduin, I continue the Civil War quests line. I would not take whiterun before the Truce, I would just maybe go to Korvanjund and take the Jagged Crown..! So, will it be ok? Or will my game be like "what did you do" Thanks :)

How does my Trainer ID effect shiny Pokemon?

I've heard that if my trainer ID is a specific pattern or has certain numbers, it will effect how often I encounter shiny Pokemon. Is this statement true and what kind of patterns/numbers are most effective? I know the trainer ID is random at every new game, but is there a way to manipulate it without using any type of cheating device? For example, does my trainer name or gender selection determine my ID?
