Does it matter if I found a religion on holy site or Stonehenge?

Posted: 30 May 2022 09:13 AM PDT

I have a city with a holy site and Stongehenge. And since I got a prophet with Stonehenge, it's time to found a religion.

Does it matter in any way if I found it on the holy site or Stonehenge?

Can you find an Hermetic Seal instead of dying at the beginning of the Leviathan expedition?

Posted: 30 May 2022 12:54 AM PDT

The Leviathan expedition involves a weir permadeath mechanic that wraps the player in a loop, with progression made easier on each death by some unlocked rewards that persist between different iterations.

In order to teach the player about the mechanic, the player starts without the plans for the Hermetic Seal, a component that will be required in order to repair their damaged ship right at the start of the game. The tutorial then suggests that the player should die in order to unlock the relative reward - the Seal crafting recipe - and thus be able to repair the ship on their "second loop".

To complete the expedition the player has to complete each milestone, and thus they will have to complete the "Die once" requirement at some point. Since every iteration completely resets the player advancement including the completed milestones (making the "Die once" the only milestone that "sticks" - since you automatically complete it when you "rebirth") this also means that the player can't avoid dying at least once to fully complete the expedition - and the sooner they die the better since death means they will lose whatever accomplished on that iteration.

Yet, I was wondering how far the game goes in order to avoid the player getting an Hermetic Seal by any other means. In the normal gameplay the game will "cheat" to never provide some techs to the player before reaching some story milestones (for example, never giving you access to the hyperdrive)... Do we know if the expedition employs any similar technique? While that would be an exercise in futility, could a stubborn player try to reach a trading outpost to buy an Hermetic Seal there or workaround the need completely by purchasing another ship? Or will the game find a way to prevent that from happening (suspiciously, the starting planet is also a "wormed" one. While Giant Worms normally can't harm the player, I wouldn't put that past the developers to add a "scripted death" if the player goes too far from their ship).

How to stop the killed entities message in Minecraft Java using a command block?

Posted: 30 May 2022 04:54 AM PDT

I am working on one of my Minecraft maps and I set up a repeating command block to kill the slimes but in the chat, it just says it killed entities repeatedly and I think that would annoy the people playing.

Does anybody have any ides of what command block and what command I need to do to prevent the commands from being annoying (filling up screen)? Thank you DialFrost.

What is the origin of "s-tier" in video games? [duplicate]

Posted: 30 May 2022 05:48 AM PDT

It occurred to me the other day that I don't remember ever hearing the term "s-tier" (meaning the best in a tier list, far better than anyone else - the highest tier) before Super Smash Bros Brawl, when it was needed to separate Metaknight from the rest of the cast.

This may be a question for English Language stack exchange, too, but I thought I would start here. What is the earliest recorded use of the term "s-tier"?

What's the best strategy for deploying ascensions for planets in Stellaris?

Posted: 29 May 2022 06:51 PM PDT

Basically is it better to ascend my "best" planet as high as possible before working on my 2nd planet or to ascend every planet to Tier 1 before ascending any to tier 2 or somewhere in between? Assuming there's not a 4th answer I haven't thought of, I'm mostly assuming high populations would get the most benefit from it, but I'm not sure what the ideal strategy would be.

Can I use command blocks to automatically spawn all filled maps that exist in my world?

Posted: 29 May 2022 06:14 PM PDT

I have used an online map-art creator to create map art. I downloaded the map files and there are a total of 134.
I know that I can get maps by using the following command:

/give [playername | @p] minecraft:filled_map [amount_of_maps] [map_number]

But is there perhaps a way to tell a command block to give me all the maps? For example it puts map 1 in a chest, then map 2, map 3 and so on. Or is the only way to get all 134 maps by repeatedly using the command?

Why did the Nether generate in the Overworld of this map file?

Posted: 30 May 2022 08:04 AM PDT

I have this world file that somehow generated the Nether inside of the Overworld. Why did this happen? I have tried opening up this world on an older update (where the Nether update didn't exist) and it just instantly crashed Minecraft whenever I opened it.

The Nether rack looks old because I'm using an old Minecraft themed texture pack, not because I'm playing on the old version, because it simply crashed.

My Google Play Store is glitching so I can't download Minecraft

Posted: 30 May 2022 03:08 AM PDT

About two days ago Minecraft Education Edition had an update, when I tried to update the game my Play Store just closed itself. So I uninstalled the game and tried to reinstall, when I did it went to 2 percent then said:

Can't download Minecraft: Education Edition, try again, and if it still doesn't work, see common ways to fix this problem.

So I went into this and tried everything, resetting my device, clearing storage, clearing the cache of the Google Play Store and the download manager, and updating my device. But nothing works. Can someone help me?

More Information

  • Google Chrome OS Version 96.0.4664.111 (Official Build) (64-bit)
  • has 7.1 GB available
  • needs 182 MB to reinstall

Does Megaera have something to say if Zagreus has no Boons?

Posted: 30 May 2022 05:31 AM PDT

What are the options for Megaera to talk about Zagreus's Boons / Mirror purchases?

I know she notes the Mirror purchases and if they're immediately removed next fight...

And that there's Final Boss Dialogue for No Boons...

I remember hearing about No Boons Megaera having dialogue for that too, but perhaps I'm mistaken?

How can I summon a minecart and have the player automatically enter it when spawned in Minecraft Bedrock Edition?

Posted: 29 May 2022 02:01 PM PDT

I am making a rollercoaster and attempting to add a button that makes a command block summon the Minecart onto the tracks and has the player automatically enter it.

I am using Minecraft Bedrock (specifically Windows 10) on 1.16.

Is the alpha channel supported in Minecraft tellraw?

Posted: 29 May 2022 04:02 PM PDT

So I'm trying to add transparency to Minecraft tellraw so text can be partly transparent, and I'm stuck. I've tried to add it via hex code, in the format #AARRGGBB and the alpha value is completely ignored. I know it is supported in someway since I can use translucent images in unicode, I just don't know how to add it without using unicode. Is there a way to add it in the color value? Does Minecraft have a different value for alpha values? Or is this not possible? A solution without using unicode is what I need.

Problem with RequiredPlayerRange on spawners

Posted: 29 May 2022 08:06 PM PDT

This is on the latest Minecraft version, 1.16.4

I have been trying to figure out how to get it to work with NBTEexplorer. I changed the RequiredPlayerRange to higher then default amount which was 16 now its 40, yet whenever i save it and just restart my game to see if the changes applied it still defaults back to its original range yet still says 40 in the NBTExplorer.

went to ahead and checked on the official wiki of minecraft to find i had to change MaxNearbyEntities aswell though unsure what to so i changed it to the same value, still nothing

update during writing!

found a command that might work?

/data merge block -1537 39 771 {RequiredPlayerRange: 30}

standing above the spawner and counted 1 block off the Y coordinate

^ this gave me a error: that position is not loaded

Though, no idea what that could mean really

Could someone explain why I am getting this?

As well if you know of a different fix for the problem please tell!

I have a very annoying problem. I can't send oil to the space center. I don't produce oil. I import Oil to Trade Port and Depot. After filling, I use the use locally option. But nothing happens. Even if I produce oil.

what do you think is the problem?

What units do not genuinely "die" in Fire Emblem Fates Conquest regardless of difficulty mode?

Posted: 30 May 2022 01:04 AM PDT

I have the impression or assumption that certain units who show up in (future) cinematics in the story can't or won't probably die, and merely "retreat" for plot purposes. Or maybe the game auto fails you for the mission. Does anybody have the definitive list? I'm playing on casual or whatever mode where units wouldn't die anyway, but am curious how this might be handled across difficulty modes.
