Are there any sure-fire ways to beat Round 100 on Deflation mode?

Posted: 21 May 2021 09:07 PM PDT

There is an achievement for beating Round 100 on Deflation mode. A long time ago, there was a glitch that allowed players to earn money in Deflation mode, but that has since been patched. There are still probably glitched I could use to earn money, but they are really time-consuming.

My highest round is 95 on Cubism with Sauda. When Sauda was added, she was OP. I took advantage of that for sure. I know she can easily solo all the way up to Round 100 in a regular game, but that's with money and early level-ups. That's not possible in Deflation.

Screenshot of my highest round

On this round, the DDTs overwhelm her.

Are there any strategies, preferably glitchless, that could ensure a win? Not specifically with my current setup, but with any map and any hero?

Is there a command line switch to specify the video resolution for DirectQ (a Quake 1 source port)

Posted: 22 May 2021 12:42 AM PDT

I have tried directq.exe -width x -height y which works with some other source ports but not this one. At startup it always defaults to 800x600.

Does anyone know if there is a command line option that works with DirectQ?

How do I make an XNOR gate work in Fallout 4?

Posted: 21 May 2021 05:26 PM PDT

By the way, I am currently on a phone, so please excuse any formatting issues, typos, or grammatical errors. For reference: I have already looked at this thread, which seems to be the only thread on the site which references the logic gates, but it did not contain any information about the XNOR gate, specifically, and none of the proposed answers really discussed the XNOR gate at all.

I am attempting to set up a powered door in my settlement, to have an area where settlers cannot access, but I can (from my experiments I have done, it does not appear as though NPCs can actually use switches unless specifically scripted to do so, such as for missions or encounters in the wild). The problem is, I need to be able to open and close the door from both sides, and there is only one connection point on one side of the wall. I have already tried using radiating power instead of the hard connection, but it seems to require the hard connection. Even if it had worked, I would be left with basically an OR gate, where I would have to open the door from one side, flip the switch on the other side, then turn off the first switch, then turn off the second switch, just to get the door closed with myself on the correct side of the door. I experimented with different ways of operating this system for a few weeks, then I happened across the logic gates added by the Contraptions Workshop DLC. I immediately checked to see if the game had an XNOR gate (many games and logic simulators dont include this gate), and was excited when I discovered that it did, indeed, have the XNOR gate.

The XNOR gate, for anybody who does not know, is designed like those dual switch systems that many houses have for the lights in a hallway or stairway; if both switches are in the same position, the light turns on, regardless of whether the switches are in the ON or the OFF positions. If they are not in the same position (I.E., one is ON and the other is OFF), the light will turn off. This allows you to control the light from either end of a hallway, so you don't have to cross to the other side to turn you light off, then navigate your way in the dark to get back.

So, I designed an elaborate system to get the wires from one side of the wall to the other (since wires cant go through walls in Fallout 4; such a headache), and connected the two switches to power sources and to the XNOR input, and the XNOR output to the door. Nothing happened, so I checked the Wiki and learned that at least one, if not both, inputs have to come from another logic gate, not directly from a switch or power source. To play it safe, I connected both switches to AND gates, then the AND gates to the XNOR input. This seemed to do the trick at first glance, but then I discovered that it was still functioning like an OR gate. I double checked all my wiring, made sure there was no radiating power source that might be interfering, and even disconnected and reconnected everything. I couldn't figure it out, so I scrapped everything, went to another section of wall, away from any power source or powered object, and played around with the gates for a bit. I put two switches on the wall, wired them to AND gates, then those AND gates to the XNOR gate, and finally the XNOR output to another AND gate (I had seen a suggestion elsewhere that you might have to send the XNOR output to another logic gate rather than directly to the object you wish to power). It continued to do the same thing. Upon further inspection, it appears that the XNOR gate may have been designed incorrectly, because the game allows you to see the actual input and output values of logic gates, and as you can see in the photos linked below, the gate is functioning incorrectly (my phone refuses to upload images, so you'll have to use the links, unless someone else can put the images into my post for me; images uploaded to Imgur by a friend, as I dont have an account). Images

I really need assistance with this one, because I hope to use a powered door elsewhere as well, and if I cant get even this one to work then I have no idea how I'm going to secure certain areas of my settlements.

Tl;dr: XNOR gate seems to be functioning incorrectly, how do I fix it?

Play Games on Integrated Graphics Instead of Dedicated GPU?

Posted: 21 May 2021 03:26 PM PDT

so I just installed Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, and it was my first game download ever, and I want to try the Multi-player. The problem is my dedicated GPU is too outdated and unable to handle the game with a playable FPS even with the settings cranked down to 720p-very low , my dedicated GPU is Nvidia mx-130 with 2GB VRAM, I wanted to run the game on my CPU (at least give it a try).

and yes I do understand that this game is incredibly graphic intense, but I want to give it a try on my integrated graphics which have 2GB more than my dedicated one (Intel UHD 4GB VRAM)

I tried to make the game use my internal GPU but:

  1. in-game settings doesn't even list Intel UHD as an option, the only option is the Nvidia.
  2. in windows settings -> graphic settings, I chose

power saving: Intel UHD

to run the game, but the game will boot with my Nvidia option available only.

  1. inside Nvidia control panel, I selected (use integrated graphic) for both warzone and it's launcher but it does nothing.

sometime when I change both windows and Nvidia control together to Intel UHD option, the game suggest to run in safe mode or ask to adapt with new changes, then the game will crash regardless if I chose Yes or NO for any dialog option, what can I do now if I want to give it a try on my integrated graphics in this condition?

*as i mentioned i run the game in 720p-very low preset

AppleArcade The Oregon Trail: What does wagon grease do?

Posted: 21 May 2021 06:26 PM PDT

In the AppleArcade version of the Oregon Trail, the purpose of wagon grease is described as increasing the wagon's resistance to damage. When used, the wagon glows green for a moment with some + symbols hovering around it. However, from my experience it does not really seem to do anything, and I can't find a menu showing the wagon's current damage resistance or anything like that. So does it actually work, or could it be bugged? It's very inexpensive so perhaps it works but doesn't have much effect?

Why is the Xbox 360 I'm using reformatting my memory stick?

Posted: 21 May 2021 12:59 PM PDT

I used to have a stick with data on it, but it got write-protected. Now I'm trying to recover the data, but every time I connect the memory stick to the Xbox 360, it seems the Xbox is reformatting or reverting the entire stick to the file structure as shown in the image.

File structure it always reverts to for some reason, sorry if you cant see it

I even extracted and stuck the Content directory and name.txt file into the root directory of the stick, using USBXTAFGUI!

Does anyone have any idea what I'm doing wrong here? Is it literally corrupting the data or is it something else?

How do I evolve Yen pins?

Posted: 21 May 2021 12:13 PM PDT

In the game, The World Ends With You, the info for Yen pins say that they can evolve. However, every Yen pin I've come across has been a mastered pin, which is locked out of Pin evolution.

How do I evolve a Yen pin? Is there a way to find unmastered Yen pins?

How do I open the Beneviento mausoleum in the graveyard?

Posted: 21 May 2021 10:08 PM PDT

I've finished Resident Evil Village twice now and I've noticed some inconsistent behaviors with the Beneviento Treasure. In both playthroughs I defeated the Donna Beneviento and returned to the village with the four-winged key. However, in one playthrough I was able to return to the village and the mausoleum containing the broken Beneviento headstone was unlocked by a lycan. On the other playthrough the mausoleum was never opened - thus preventing me from completing the puzzle and fighting the axe-weilding Urias miniboss.

What is required to open the mausoleum in the Village graveyard? It doesn't seem like only defeating Donna Beneviento is sufficient.

How do I op a user who has spaces in their username on a Minecraft server?

Any ideas? :)

Where do Warpers go when they teleport?

Posted: 21 May 2021 02:54 PM PDT

When a Warper teleports away, where does it go? To another location in the game? To an inaccessible location? Or does it leave the game entirely until it's time for it to warp back in?

How many Pokémon are in New Pokémon Snap?

Is there a way to put conditionals in functions?

Posted: 21 May 2021 11:03 PM PDT

Is there a way to make something conditional in a function? For example

setblock 5 10 5 air tellraw @a {"rawtext":[{"text":"Placed!"}]} # <--- Make this command conditional (only runs if the setblock worked) give @p diamond_helmet # <-- this runs anyway

I know how to do certain things conditionally such as running a command if a creeper is there:

execute @e[type=creeper,c=1] ~~~ execute @p ~~~ say Hi!

but for things other than single entity detection I don't know how to approach this.

Can I use the same PvZ: Garden Warfare 2 account on my PC and Xbox One?

How do you see the progress of your challenges in-game?

Posted: 21 May 2021 06:42 PM PDT

In Battlefield 1, you can complete challenges to earn medals. However, oftentimes it is incredibly frustrating not knowing how far you are in these challenges. For instance, there is some sort of 'tracking circle' on the left hand side that slowly goes round until it's full - but it doesn't give you a number (e.g. 4/10). If I remember correctly, the number is shown briefly when moving upwards in the challenge.

in-game

More importantly, after a round's finished you can't find this information either. (It says 'kill 10 Scouts...' but not how many you've killed so far.)

After a round

Heck, you can't even see the progress in your Soldier menu!

player stats

Am I missing something to show the current progress of the challenge? A keyboard shortcut? Clicking on a specific item? Sacrificing a goat to the Earthmother? I've tried everything I can think of.

What does downforce upgrade actually do to your car?

Posted: 21 May 2021 02:56 PM PDT

"Upgraded aerodinamics give a nice downforce effect" but this doesn't cut it for me. Does it make go quicker, similar to the gearbox effect, or does it make fly less, or something else ?

How can I create an Elytra booster?

Posted: 22 May 2021 04:06 AM PDT

I'm trying to replicate the spider queens bone in logdotzip's ccmp series. I've gotten pretty far, however I can't finish it. I've gotten up to

/execute ~0 ~0.1 ~0 [player] summon spider and /testfor item.weapon.offhand minecraft:bone

The things I need help with is combining both commands, getting the order of the string of commands right, getting the name of the bone to have to be "Spider Queen's Bone", having no drops come from the spiders, and killing only the spiders spawned by the bone. There may be missing things because I am new to larger commands.

How do you allow de-opped players to use ServerSigns in MC 1.7.10?

Posted: 22 May 2021 05:02 AM PDT

So, my group and I are setting up an initial spawn room for a server we are creating. The room is like an introduction area, with important information. After the player has read all the signs and stuff, there are two signs (that will have the same commands) that basically do these few things:

a. Teleport the player from the initial spawn to Hub.

b. Transfer the player from the Group Manager group "Default" to "Marine" (basically the base rank for all players)

The main reason the player changes groups is because Marine will have different stats than the Default players. (ie. prefixes, spawn, sign perms, etc.)

However, the problem is, we can't make it so that de-opped players in the Default group can use ServerSigns. I am in the Developers group with NO permissions at all, but I can still use signs even when de-opped.

I know there is the serversigns.use.* thing, but I have no idea where to input this. We have tried doing /mangaddp Default serversigns.use.* but this does not work. Help is appreciated! Note that I don't really understand the GroupManager plugin too well, so please be patient with me. :)

NESBox to VirtualBoy Advance Save File Conversion

Posted: 22 May 2021 01:04 AM PDT

I have used the NESBox Emulator with my dumped Pokemon Emerald .gba and I have used the "Save state" button. I have played a lot on NESBox and now that I would like to use VirtualBoy Advance I cannot load NESBox save file (.save) that I saved my data to, because it errors with "Unrecognized Gave Version".

Does anyone here know how to convert NESBox state files (.save) to VirtualBoy Advance-compatible Save files (.sgm)?

Minecraft nether portal info

Posted: 21 May 2021 01:41 PM PDT

I've been playing Minecraft for a little over a year now and I finally got a portal to the Nether. I've been in the Nether for a while, but now I'm lost and trying to find my way back before I starve, so I've pretty much used up my resources.

So my question is: if I break my portal (in the overworld) and then fix and relight it, will the corresponding portal in the Nether spawn in the same spot, or somewhere else?

Where can I find the 'Profiles' folder of GTA V?

I want to install a save game, but I cant find the 'Profiles' folder.

Keep Getting Reconnected to Same Server Time and Again

Posted: 22 May 2021 12:02 AM PDT

I installed the game today and everything went fine. And then I joined a server, played for a few minutes and quit.

After about an hour or two, I again started the game and joined some other server. The round started and when I tried to buy ammo by using the , shortcut key, I got reconnected to the same server that I had joined an hour earlier.

This made me suspicious and I opened my "config.cfg" file to see a series of "connect xxx.xxx.xxx" to the bind command in the file. I deleted that file and made it a readonly after restarting the game. But the problem still persists. Is there someplace else that I need to look and make the file readonly?

PS: I also re-installed the game and made the config.cfg, userexec.cfg, and GameMenu.res files readonly before starting the game. But the problem still persists even after a clean re-install.

Why can't I destroy blocks or hit people in multiplayer and in single player on diamond dimensions?

Posted: 22 May 2021 02:07 AM PDT

I am on Diamond Dimensions and I can right click a door or chest to open it, but I can destroy any blocks. I have tried everything, including re-downloading Technic launcher, but I still can't destroy blocks. I was on my friends world so I went to my world and it still didn't work. I made sure my control was on button 1 for attack, I made sure I was on survival mode and not adventure mode, and even tried dying to see if it works. It didn't. I can't even hit someone!! When a monster came near me I couldn't even hit him, I had to run away!! What else can I do?

What is this green number on my Mystic Ally's icon?

Posted: 21 May 2021 12:37 PM PDT

When I summon a Mystic Ally with my Monk, it has a green '1' in the bottom left of its icon graphic:

Surely it's not the amount of Mystic Ally's that I have summoned, because you can only summon 1 at a time, so I'm not sure what it represents.

Why do I never get "no more moves" in non-Classic bejeweled?

Posted: 21 May 2021 12:16 PM PDT

I'm playing Bejeweled on my iPhone. My classic games usually end in "no more moves". However, this has never happened in Diamond Mine, Lightning, or Butterflies - not yet, anyway. My question is: why does it happen in Classic but not in the other game modes? Is the jewel-generating algorithm rigged to supply you with matches in some modes, but not in others?

I'm basically trying to determine the 'luck' aspect of the game vs. the 'skill' aspect. If the generated gems are generated with the exact same ratios, why does it happen with differing frequencies according to the game mode?

How can I kill Beitild without anyone seeing?

Posted: 22 May 2021 12:15 AM PDT

So I'm on the first part of the Dark Brotherhood questline, and I have to kill Beitild in Dawnstar. I've done it before on a previous character, but I can't for the life of me seem to get it to work here.

I'm entering her house, under stealth, no one sees me, and I use my bow to one-shot her in the back whilst she is sleeping.

It seems that for some reason, the mage who lives in the house NEXT DOOR is a witness to my crime, despite him being in, you know, another house, and he summons the guards and tries to kill me.

Any advice?

Differences between PSP models

Posted: 21 May 2021 10:46 AM PDT

I've never really kept up to date with the whole world of PSP, however, finding myself wanting to play a couple of games like Crisis Core that are only available on the device, I find myself confused.

I was basically hoping that someone could clear up what exact differences there are between the models; Looking around I see there are 'Series' (i.e. 1000, 2000, 3000) and the individual models within that series (i.e. 2000, 2004, etc).

Can anyone offer an insight into what to look out for? And also, do I need to keep an eye out for anything when considering the firmware? (like do older models not accept newer firmware).
