Can you remove the previous landing pad once you got the bigger ones?

Posted: 21 Nov 2021 06:24 AM PST

In Mars Horizon the building space is limited. But each rocket requires a certain pad.

Can you remove the smaller landing pads once you have built a bigger one and still launch rockets that are of a smaller size than that pad?

How do I close the console in OpenTTD?

Posted: 21 Nov 2021 06:15 AM PST

Sometimes I accidentally press ^ to open the console in OpenTTD. How do I close it again? Pressing ^ again does nothing. Commands quit and exit close the game. list_cmds doesn't list any command for closing the console. Pressing various other keys doesn't seem to help either.

I'm on a German keyboard if this matters.

InGround tag for tridents?

Posted: 20 Nov 2021 06:08 PM PST

Link I'll be referencing to: Specific lightning arrow task, after the arrow strikes, and only using a specific bow

This is just a quick question, using the chain of commands in circusbaby23's answer, is it possible to replace all arrow references with a trident?

Things that will change (Highlighted with **):

/scoreboard objectives add **UseTrident** **minecraft.used:trident
execute at @a[scores={**UseTrident**=1..},nbt={SelectedItem:{id:"**minecraft:trident**",Count:1b,tag:{**Name of trident in here**}}}] run data merge entity @e[type=trident,limit=1,sort=nearest,distance=..2] {Tags:["**lightningtrident**"]}
execute as @a[scores={UseBow=1..}] at @e[type=**trident**,tag=**lightningtrident**,nbt={inGround:1b},limit=1] run summon minecraft:lightning_bolt

etc.

Will it work?

Trigger Command After Specific Death Message

Posted: 20 Nov 2021 06:03 PM PST

I am creating an adventure map in MC Bedrock and need a way to trigger a command when a player dies a certain way. For example, if a player is on Level 4 (tracked by a scoreboard), if they die by "hitting the ground too hard" a repeating command block will increment the scoreboard to Level 5, teleport the player and set their spawn point to a new location.

The part I can't figure out is how to detect the specific death message so I can then check the level and trigger the other automated actions. I do NOT need custom death messages—I am trying to evaluate the vanilla death messages in the chat to see if they match the message I want in order to trigger the other actions.

Problem with holding down the mouse buttons (SVEN RX-G740)

Posted: 20 Nov 2021 09:39 PM PST

I recently bought a new SVEN RX-G740 mouse and during the game I noticed a small problem. If I hold down a click on the right and left mouse buttons at the same time and release one of them, then all the mouse buttons are released. In shooters where I need to aim down sights and shoot this is very inconvenient and I would like to know how to fix it.

In the video, I'm trying to undo the pinched clicks one at a time, but when one button is canceled, all the other buttons are immediately released, even when I keep my finger on the button pressed. This happens with all buttons on the mouse.

Is it possible to fix this somehow or is this the model?

Unstable FPS while playing Metro Exodus - Enhanced Edition

Posted: 20 Nov 2021 08:51 PM PST

Update:

In recent couple of days, I have found inconsistence GPU power used by this game. please refer to screen shot1, which has gpu power of only 54 watts and hence very low fps. In screen shot2, gpu power is 119 watts and hence much better fps. These are taken with the same system. Screen shot 3 shows in Witcher 3, the gpu power is also the normal at 125 watts and the fps is great. It looks like (to me) this still a game issue.

I just started playing Metro Exodus - Enhanced Edition. My laptop setup is:

Note: GPU is on 130 W!

Screenshot of system information

Video settings in the game is 1920x1080 on Ultra, and others are mostly set to default. I find the FPS is not stable, sometimes a lot more than 60 fps (90 or higher), but sometimes quite low at around 20 fps. I have changed the various video settings and it only changes the FPS a little bit, but I've still got this huge inconsistency in fps. I have even tried resolution of 800X600 and that doesn't improve the FPS a lot. I have even tested with the Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition benchmark tool and tried different settings and it always returns around 53 - 59 average FPS. So what could be the issue? Most of the games I have played on this laptop have excellent FPS. I don't think my setup is too low-end for this game.

Is it possible to trade with villagers using some sort of score? (commands)

Posted: 20 Nov 2021 07:04 PM PST

I'm trying to make a system that transfers emeralds to a score to not take up inventory space, and that score can be used to trade. Is this possible? And if so, is it possible to display this score in the XP bar? Thanks

Battlefield 2042 is limiting threads and process priority

Posted: 21 Nov 2021 09:46 AM PST

On a 2600x 6-core 12-thread CPU the game is using only 8 threads at 100% usage with other 4 on idle.

enter image description here

You cannot change/unlock or do anything with e.g. Process Lasso, it is hard-locked at 8 threads only.

It also hard-locks the bf.exe process priority to Normal only. You cannot change it via Process Lasso or simply Task Manager, you just get an error.

Cannot tweak your own Windows system, optimize or fully utilize your system for maximum gain. Hard-stuck at <60fps.

Why? How to work around?

How do I save corrupt Minecraft files? (Windows 10 Edition)

Posted: 20 Nov 2021 07:10 PM PST

In one of my previous questions I asked about losing a bunch of stuff like my house in my Minecraft world due to what I thought was a chunk error. As it turns out, I have about 10 'lost' files in my Minecraft world and I am desperate to find out how to recover them. I've tried using software to recover them and they all say it's successful but when I try to put them back into the world folder it's still the same - they just disappear when I log on. Any solutions?

Is there a reason to shoot (or to avoid shooting) the floating Bureau employees?

Posted: 21 Nov 2021 05:55 AM PST

I've just started playing Control - in the game, besides the active opponents you can see plenty of civilian employees infected/possessed by Hiss that just float in the air, but beside looking spooky, they don't seem to be doing anything. You can find a note saying that their purpose is unknown, but they might be working as a sort of amplifier to Hiss.

So should I shoot them on sight or they can be left in peace and maybe even saved?

Is it possible to preserve explored map progress when deleting chunks from the savefile/uploading it to a server?

Posted: 21 Nov 2021 06:05 AM PST

The situation is that I need to set up a server to host a game previously was only local.
I tried hamachi, but it disconnects immediately (I blame the intercontinental lag since it works otherwise, but if you think it is something else, let's talk in chat). As a consequence, now I'm trying with minehut.

As we like to explore, the save was beyond 2gb, so I trimmed it with MCAselector.

Now my question: we had made a giant map wall. After the trim, if I load the world locally, the map wall shows as before, but if I upload the save to minehut and log into the server, the maps are either missing or wrong/garbled.

I tried uploading the individual map_###.dat files and for some maps it helped, but not all.
Is there a way to preserve those maps? or should I give up and re-explore everything?

How to count entities with commands/check if there are only one or a certain number of entities or players left?

Posted: 21 Nov 2021 05:42 AM PST

I want to run a command when there are only 10 entities left. I know you can use /execute unless entity to detect when all matching mobs have died, but it doesn't work if you want to run a command when there are for example 10 entities left.

A command like /execute if entity @e[limit=10] does not work, it also triggers if there is only one entity.

Such a counting system could also be used to determine once there is only one player left in an arena, meaning they have won a battle or similar.

What are the consequences of your decision on the plane in Deus Ex?

Posted: 20 Nov 2021 03:20 PM PST

I was assigned to kill an NSF leader on a plane in LaGuardia National Airport, but Paul has been urging me to side with the NSF. My murderous nano-aug superior is insisting that if I don't kill the guy, SHE will do so. It felt like a serious breaking point with major plot ramifications.

On my first attempt, I died horribly.

On my second attempt, I was able to kill Anna Navarre, and the NSF leader actually survived! I'd gone so far as to booby trap the plane with land mines, though, and I inadvertently set one off before I could talk to the guy.

On all my subsequent attempts, Anna either killed the guy before I can kill her, or she wound up killing me herself. I finally gave up and just resumed playing from a file where both of them died in the altercation.

Does the NSF leader have anything more to tell you if you save him from Anna? Does Gunther wind up killing him? What would have happened if I'd followed my superiors' orders and either killed him outright or let Anna kill him?
