Why are the hidden items in Fire Red/Leaf Green sometimes absent?

Posted: 24 Nov 2021 12:22 AM PST

In Fire Red/Leaf Green, there are hidden items on seemingly empty tiles that can find just by facing the tile and pressing A. I'd always assumed these items were in fixed spots every game. However, I looked at this guide, and the Underground Path (Route 5-6) items aren't present in my game (Fire Red), even using the Itemfinder. A lot of people in the comments on that video seem to be having the same problem, with the Underground Path and with other items.

This page makes various claims about what triggers the appearance of the items, all of which seem to be false: that you need to clear either the SS Anne or the Game Corner, or get the VS Seeker. I've done all of these (I'm actually at the Elite Four).

Why do these items appear inconsistently? Is it intended, or a glitch?

Is the Furnace EXP farm better than the Mob farm?

Posted: 23 Nov 2021 11:42 PM PST

Details

I am on Minecraft : Bedrock Edition v1.17.41 I play on a world where the Caves & Cliffs Experimental Mode is on

Situation

I am in need of lots and lots of EXP, I need it for Enchanting purposes (as everyone does) I need to find a way to get alot of EXP fast, as I am a very impatient person and I want to get it the most cheapest way and the laziest way (preferably AFK farms).

The Furnace EXP farm only uses furnace and farmable items like bamboo and cactus. The problem is I don't have them and it's hard to get those items.

The Mob EXP farm uses the killing of mobs and some automatic farms uses Trident which is hard to get, and the normal Mob farms requires me to NOT AFK.

I want to decide to which one of them works best, if none then please suggest a new one.

Is it possible to Contain the Traffic Light without stopping?

Is it possible to Contain the Traffic Light without stopping?

I thought it was "Get to the Light before it turns red". Before a walkthrough informed me the real method:

But is it possible to do the second phase without stopping? I used all the Evade Energy Reductions I had and I seemed to be able to almost reach it, but I'm just a bit too slow.

But is it possible?

What determines the three Materials gained from completing Alerts?

What determines the three Materials gained from completing Alerts?

Is it "Current Section" + "Next Section"?

I took down Hiss Nodes in Executive: Communications, and got two something from Executive and an Astral Blip of the Research Section.

I wanted Remote Thoughts, and I've unlocked all of Containment. I'm just wondering if I should be bothering with non-Research / Containment Alerts.

I got a House Memory, Threshold Remnant, and Entropic Echo from Kill Key Hiss in Research's Ritual Division, which is every area except for Research and Investigations.

I've almost got everything I need from Containment, I'm wondering if Containment Alerts net me Investigations materials or if I really have to unlock it... ... Or is it unlocked now that I have the LV6 Keycard...

How can I change Microsoft account linked to my Mojang account?

Posted: 23 Nov 2021 11:17 AM PST

I accidentally linked my little brother's Microsoft account since he saved his on my pc, so that one auto-filled. But I want to change the Microsoft account because of this issue I am unable to go online. Now I can't do anything online with my friends and I was wondering if I could change the Microsoft account with another.

I am not willing to buy another account since I have 6 years of playtime on this account. Is there any way to fix this?

I have a big problem with account migration

Posted: 23 Nov 2021 08:30 AM PST

I migrated Mojang account because I wanted to play on Badlion. But I've migrated my account to my child account (yes, I have 2 accounts) so I can't play multiplayer. Than I tried that Microsoft family or what it is. But I've created it with my child account so my child account is the organizer and the Microsoft family thing I don't have there a parent (but I have my adult account) because there's no adult account WITH organizer rank. I also can't delete this family because I don't have adult account with organizer rank.

I think there's something that should help but I don't know how to do them: change the organizer rank to my adult account, delete the family and create new or change the email on my Minecraft account

Can somebody please help? Thank you very much.

Command block to give specific player (in a certain radius) a status effect

Posted: 23 Nov 2021 02:21 AM PST

In Vanilla Minecraft 1.18, is there a way to give a specific player a status effect if they step within X blocks of an area? I need to give Mining Fatigue on a certain player when they enter my base.

After extensive searching I've looked at the command /effect give

/effect give playerName minecraft:absorption 5 5 true

and also /testfor, but that doesn't seem to work.

The effect should only happen when a certain player is within a certain radius of the command block.

I can't Ascend my characters because I can't fight the bosses due to World Level. How can I get the Ascension materials? [duplicate]

Posted: 22 Nov 2021 10:14 PM PST

So, I kinda did an opsie and ended up getting to AR 30 and World Level 3. Now all bosses are between level 45-50 which I'm not powerful enough to fight.

Because of this, I got stuck in a Catch-22 where I need to defeat bosses to level up my characters, but I can't defeat those bosses because my character levels not enough.

How can I get ascension materials considering that I can't defeat the bosses that drop them?

Check minecraft java scoreboard leaderboards

Posted: 23 Nov 2021 10:33 PM PST

For various purposes, I need a way to check scoreboard objectives rather than just checking a player's scores. Is there a command I can run that can find the largest score in a scoreboard and who has it? What about the smallest? What about the 8th largest? Is there a way I can get a list of all "players" with a score of 12 in a specific objective?

This functionality feels like it should exist in minecraft; you can display leaderboards on the sidebar, for example, but I can't find a way to access them with commands. Are any of these things possible? If so, how?

Edits for clarity: I need to be able to target offline players, not just a group of online players with various scores. That is, I want to create the same functionality as the sidebar leaderboard but accessible via commands. The sidebar leaderboard displays who has the highest score in an objective, even if it's a dummy player or armorstand or something, but it only lists the top 5. Additionally, and partially related, I want to know of it's possible to create a list of all players, online, offline, or dummy, with a score of 5, or any specific number.

Is it possible to play car racing games with a joystick?

Posted: 23 Nov 2021 09:48 PM PST

Is it possible to drive cars in games (on a pc) with a joystick instead of a steering wheel (like that for a flight simulator)?

Are there car racing games that support joysticks? Can I trick the computer into thinking the joystick is a steering wheel?

How Do You Get Custom Villagers In Bedrock

Problem with holding down the mouse buttons (SVEN RX-G740)

Posted: 23 Nov 2021 12:42 PM PST

I recently bought a new SVEN RX-G740 mouse and during the game I noticed a small problem. If I hold down a click on the right and left mouse buttons at the same time and release one of them, then all the mouse buttons are released. In shooters where I need to aim down sights and shoot this is very inconvenient and I would like to know how to fix it.

In the video, I'm trying to undo the pinched clicks one at a time, but when one button is canceled, all the other buttons are immediately released, even when I keep my finger on the button pressed. This happens with all buttons on the mouse.

Is it possible to fix this somehow or is this the model?

check for 3 or more blocks in inventory

Posted: 23 Nov 2021 10:03 PM PST

I need to check for three or more cobblestone in a player's inventory using command blocks, I know how to check for the exact amount but not or more. let's say the player has 3 cobblestone in their inventory, the command "execute at @a[nbt={Inventory:[{id:"minecraft:cobblestone",Count:3b}]}] run say hi" works great, but if the player has 10 it doesn't work.

How do I send wood to a ceremonial bonfire?

Posted: 23 Nov 2021 04:21 PM PST

One of the recent updates to Northgard (PC via Steam) added a new area called 'Ceremonial Bonfire'. Its description reads:

The construction of the bonfire is an occasion for a huge celebration. Everyone can contribute by sending wood!

How do I send wood?

  • I can't assign villagers of any type to the bonfire
  • The trade post doesn't show that I can set up a "trade route" to the bonfire.

Clear lag without joining world

Posted: 23 Nov 2021 02:05 PM PST

I am currently playing a custom modpack with a friend, and we are mining cobblestone with a buildcraft quarry. Now the chest we are feeding the cobblestone into is full and we have a bunch of cobblestone laying on the ground. It is so much cobblestone that the server we are playing on immediately crashes when the chunk is loaded. I have downloaded the world and tried to play it in singleplayer. When joining the world it loaded for about a minute or so, then I could see a part of the world and a bunch of cobblestone on the ground, then the game crashed.

Is there any way to get rid of all that cobblestone without joining the world?

We are playing on forge 1.12.2.

resource pack not not showing up

Posted: 23 Nov 2021 06:06 PM PST

I'm running latest 1.16 Android version of Minecraft Bedrock under Linux using the mcpelauncher. I want to create my own custom paintings, so I tried to download some and install them so I could see how it was done. However, when I unzip the downloaded file to ~/.local/share/mcpelauncher/games/com.mojang/resource_packs/pack_name it does not show up. I have tried both under settings (global resources) and for a specific map. Both files I found were advertised as being 16x16 - I have read that some larger images may require additional work to get them up and running so I thought this would be the most simple. I also read that it's possible that different versions of Minecraft have different resource pack formats. Both packs I downloaded were advertised for "Minecraft 1.16" although I don't know if there are any other non-Android/Bedrock versions with this same number.

The format of the unzipped directory is a pack.mcmeta containing pack_format 5, as well as a pack.png and an assets folder containing the actual resources.

How to make snowballs invisible?

Posted: 23 Nov 2021 08:52 AM PST

So I'm trying to implement, mostly for entertainment sake, but also for a potential "magic" system later on in the game, a way to make snowballs invisible while in the air. I'm on Minecraft: Bedrock Edition, using

/execute @e[type=snowball] ~ ~ ~ summon skeleton ~ ~-4~

to spawn, well, skeletons in the wake of the snowball as it flies, for an undead summoner-type feel, and I know you can set it up to detect when the snowball hits the ground and summon fire there, a "fireball spell" if you will, but the only problem with both of those is that you have to deal with the snowball itself flying at you just before the effect.

It's a cool feature nonetheless, but it's certainly a bit immersion breaking when you see a snowball before the wave of undead or a sea of flames. I tried using /execute @e[type=Snowball] ~ ~ ~ effect @e[type=snowball] invisibility 100 10 true, but the system cannot register the snowball. I tried giving it a unique name, but then I couldn't figure out how to search for entities with unique names.

I figure if I can identify the item with its unique name it might work, but even then I'm skeptical. I figure my best bet is to ask around and see if anybody has already come up with a solution for this or might potentially have some ideas for me to test out. As of right now, my only option seems to be making a new texture pack with a more immersive snowball style, but then people will just be confused when they go to dig up snow and get a fireball looking thing.

Cloud saved data missing

Posted: 23 Nov 2021 11:08 PM PST

I recently redownloaded this game, and I had almost everything unlocked, but when I came back to the newly updated version, all of my progress was missing, including my cloud saved data. Can somebody please help me find out how to get my stuff back?

Does the RepairedOnMe command work? If so, what's the point of it?

Posted: 24 Nov 2021 12:06 AM PST

One of the obscure Morrowind script commands is RepairedOnMe, which the UESP documentation says works as follows:

Returns 1 if the calling object is repaired by given object, or 0 otherwise. For example,

if ( "banhammer_unique"->RepairedOnMe, "repair_journeyman_01" == 1 )

checks against a Banhammer being repaired by a journeyman's hammer. Obviously, the ObjectID should be a valid repair item and the calling item should be a weapon or armor.

Does this command even work? A talk page user said that the example didn't work for them, and I don't have a Windows machine to test myself.

If it does work, what's the point of RepairedOnMe? Do any mods do anything useful with that call? None of the vanilla scripts use it, so I'm wondering if it does anything useful.

Is there anything about the macOS 64-bit Steam Client installed on Mojave macOS that would interfere with playing 32-bit games?

Posted: 24 Nov 2021 02:01 AM PST

I realize the next version beyond Mojave macOS may enforce a 64-bit application restriction. Is there potentially something about the 64-bit Steam Client for the current Mojave macOS 10.14 that could prevent playing 32-bit games distributed and/or installed through it?

For example: this older bundle of games with OS X versions that appear to run on macOS 10.13, despite their requirements sections each listing a more limited version range.

Most of the digging I've done indicates games like the examples above will be playable but I wanted to be sure I'm not missing something about the Steamworks SDK, its Custom Executable Generation (CEG) or a some other detail.

I've never seen Valve, game developers or technical resources plainly answer this particular question, though this comment that doesn't mention macOS specifically indicates it should be fine. Other reading points me in that direction but I'm looking for something definitive.

I also understand that:

Why did my Xbox One Controller stop working with Steam?

Posted: 23 Nov 2021 09:04 PM PST

I have a MacBook Pro running macOS High Sierra 10.13.4

I've been connecting an Xbox One controller wirelessly through Bluetooth to play games on Steam and it has worked fine. But recently, the Xbox controller no longer works with Steam. I can connect the controller fine and it recognizes that a an Xbox controller is connected when I go to the settings in Big Picture Mode. But it doesn't actually let me control the menus in Big Picture Mode or control anything in-game. Not sure what has changed to cause the issue. The controller is not the issue because I have tried different other Xbox One controllers.

I did notice that these issues started to appear after I checked "Turn off on Big Picture Exit" in controller settings. I'm not sure if this is related to the problem or merely a coincidence. I've since tried it without that box checked.

I have updated Steam to the most recent build since this event, but the problems started(and continue to persist) before I updated Steam.

Xbox Configuration Support is on, Big Picture Mode is on, controller is recognized by Steam, but the problem persists.

Any reasons why I may be having this problem? Any possible fixes?

Update:

When I plug in the controller through usb it works fine.

Player heads linked to player skin id

Posted: 23 Nov 2021 12:02 PM PST

I know it is possible to give a player head with say ID of whatever skin you want but, I want to make it give the player head with the precise skin at the time the player is killed. I just don't want when the skin has changed the head to change to the new skin I want it to preserve the current skin when you are killed.

For instance, if Player X has Skin A, it gives the player head with Skin A, but if it has Skin B, it gives Skin B.

So the question is can you test for which skin ID it is and can you pass that skin ID onto the give command?

I can work out most of the command myself but I am not sure if there any way to test which skin is on to retrieve that skin ID and then set that skin ID and the skull you give.

This one gives you how you give the specific head with certain skin How to make custom player heads without making multiple accounts? just not how you can find it.

Is there a way to make a piston push any block in front of it, when that block is placed?

Posted: 24 Nov 2021 12:05 AM PST

I'm having trouble setting up fish farms... I can kill the elder guardians without much trouble, but when it comes time to drain the ocean around the temple they always manage to kill me. My last attempt was the closest I've ever been, managed to create about one third of the sand wall (all of one side, half of another). A guardian slipped through the gap, zapped me and didn't give up the chase soon enough.

It occurred to me that swimming in the ocean is a poor way to build a sand wall. My first idea was to have a dispenser facing down one block above the water, and a block below it diagonally so the sand would place. But it turns out that it only drops the sand as an item, won't place it.

But what if I had a piston facing sideways (in the direction the wall is build) on top of the water? I'd need a block underneath it diagonally, and I could place sand on it. The piston would push it over, it would fall, and I could place another block there. But once that column was finished... I could continue to place blocks in that same place, they would push out across the newly formed column, and fall beside it, making column number two. And so on.

Since the piston can push up to 12 blocks, I could continue this for quite a while, and then carefully move the (hopefully simple) contraption 12 blocks to the end, and repeat the process. I'd very rarely be near the gap in the wall and I could even sandbag up my operating position as I go.

It won't help much if I have to push the button every time the piston fires though... this is where I think I need a block update detector. But many are bulky. What's the simplest one there is?

Alternatively, it might be ok if it just cycled on and off quickly without the bud. Would be slightly harder to use, maybe a little slower... but I don't have any idea what the best clock might be for this. Are there any good candidates for that?
