Getting poor Half-Life: Alyx performance with a 1080 Ti -- what can I do to improve performance?

I have a GeForce 1080 Ti GTX graphics card. I play Half-Life: Alyx with it using High Quality preset settings. I've heard from numerous people that the game runs really well on it, but I can't seem to make it happen. Some people even reported that the game runs great with a regular 1070 as well.

I have Valve Index set to target 90FPS (I tried 120FPS but that was unplayable). When playing HLA, fpsVR keeps reporting that most of the time the game is running at 45FPS raw, while the rest is provided by 25-50% reprojection rates.

The game looks fine if you're not moving too much or are in a simple room, but the reprojection rate becomes very apparent when you begin playing "normally". It manifests itself as extreme ghosting in the world. It is not unplayable, but very very ugly.

Medium settings are better in terms of not reprojecting as much, but as mentioned, I keep hearing about folks running High Settings just fine with the 1080 Ti.

What would you consider the performance of a stock 1080 Ti be with Half-Life: Alyx, if the GPU was the bottleneck, and the game was set on High Quality settings preset? Could one expect to reach 90FPS with minimal reprojection (0-15%)?

My system is Windows 10 Pro with Intel i7-8700K, 16GB DDR4 RAM, and the game is running on a ~500MB/s SSD storage. The GPU is 1080 Ti as mentioned.

Roblox seem to want to hide away how much I've spent on the game, or, I do not understand how to traverse the maze of menus.

I log into Roblox in my browser, and I click on the Robux symbol. A drop list opens, and I choose the first option (which shows how many Robux I have left). This has taken me into My Transactions.

If I review summary, current purchases or purchases, it shows the total number of Robux (which is the name of the currency in the game) I have bought. I do not see how much real money I have spent (in USD$ or GBP£).

Is it possible to get this?

What are these red tiles in the Phoebus tileset? My entire outside area is slowly turning red i think

I know how to change item's name color, but i want to override minecraft's default rarity colors. Like rare items have cyan color and i want it to be dark-red.

How do I complete story mode on learn to fly 3 (I am talking about the 4,000,000 meters high)?

A bit of backstory: I have finished every other mode along with the initial story mode that you have to do when you start the game. After all that, I decided to play story mode again, only this time I am flying to the height of 4,000,000 meters. However, I just can't seem to get there. I have Max level on all the boosters, stages, launcher, and body. Even with that, I can only get to a height just over 1,000,000 meters. How do I get to 4,000,000 meters? Do I need a particular bonus shop item or something?

How quickly do experience orbs travel?

An odd question, I know. I've scoured the internet and can't seem to get an answer, so I am asking here. For reasons I don't feel the need to disclose due to it being unimportant, I am trying to calculate how many blocks per second an experience orb travels on average. I've noticed that experience orbs pick up speed as they get closer to the player, but I'm asking for either a calculated median speed between the slowest and fastest speed, or both the slowest and fastest speed an orb of experience can go. I'm asking for both editions, so if the speed is different between them, mark what edition the speed is for.

In conclusion, what is the average blocks per second that an orb of experience travels?

Can I access beta versions of MCBE on the Nintendo Switch?

Modded Minecraft 1.12.2 freezes [closed]

I play modded Minecraft 1.12.2 with:
Forge 14.23.5.2855
Mo' Creatures + Custom mob spawner
Fossils & Archaeology + Llibrary
Optifine

After some time (can be ~15 mins or an hour) of playing mobs freeze, block breaking animation disappears and no items or blocks are dropped. The CPU usage rises to 100% and temperature to 65C with fan spinning faster, RAM usage doesn't seem to change. Sometimes it goes away after about a minute (but the block break animation may not reappear), other times I don't wait and try to force quit. I now play on a PC with Ubuntu 20.04 but I had this problem also on my old win 7 laptop about a year ago (however force quitting on Windows worked as I remember). I'm pretty sure I didn't have this problem when I played older minecraft versions. Tried allocating 4GB RAM from default but it's the same. Can this be a mod problem?

DX:HR runs slowly on my computer. How to fix?

Before installing Windows 10, I played DX:HR on Windows 7 without having any problem until I updated my computer to Windows 10. My problem is when I want to play the game an error displays:

Failed to initialize direct3d with current setting.

I searched on Google and I noticed that I should disable DirectX 11. After doing that game opened but it runs noticeably slower.

Recently I've tried to join my friend's server on Minecraft without any success

I don't have mods

The version is 1.16.5

I have windows 10

The error is

I've restarted my pc, my pc's wifi, I've restarted minecraft a few times, I've updated the java firewall stuff

How can I use /fill or /setblock to change an entire door without destroying either part of it? (1.16.5)

I'm trying to replace the top half of the door with a trap door and the bottom with another trap door of a different type.

The problem though, is that one segment of the door always seems to break, even if /fill is used. Using /fill to make it all air or all of one trap door type and then switching it over doesn't work either.

I've tried about 20 different combinations of command block/position orders and nothing seems to work.

Does this character die in Resident Evil 7?

I just bought a logitech g29 shifter.

In this shifter, there are two knobs, that you spin them in order for the clamp to come up, and secure the shifter to a mount - a desk for example.

Once you are finished with turning, then you press the knob in, and it stays down.

The thing is, one of my knobs works exactly like that, but the other knob will not stay down when i press it.

Is this normal behavior? Or both of them are supposed to stay down when pressed?

How to unlock the doors that are “locked from the other side” in Resident evil (gc version)

I've completed resident evil multiple times and noticed there were a couple rooms I never went into. These are the ones that say they are "locked from the other side" in the main hallway and the first door in the hall next to the dining room. Is there any way to get into these rooms?

I'm playing the 2002 (GameCube) version.

Why can't I get an Avatar of the Vengeful Monkey?

I play BTD6 on mobile and I got the "There can only be One" monkey knowledge and I wanted to get an Avatar of the Vengeful monkey but it hasn't worked any of the times I tried it. I watched this video where he summoned the vengeful monkey and followed his exact steps.

First I went into a challenge to make sure I knew what I was doing and I summoned him successfully. Then I played Candy Falls on easy to try and get it in an actual game but that's where I had some trouble. I put a Monkey Buccaneer and got him to 0-2-2 so he would be able to hold off the balloons for a while, then I put down Benjamin for the extra money.

I got a super monkey to 3-0-2 so he would be ready for the sacrifices, then I put down a cannon, a sniper, and an alchemist near by and put around 12 banks around the map to help me get the money faster, then I upgraded my bomb tower to 5-0-2, my sniper to 5-0-2, and my alchemist to 2-5-0, just like he did in the video.

Since I got all the upgrades needed I upgraded my sun avatar to a sun temple and re-did the process from above this time adding a 2-5-0 monkey village and placing a 0-5-2 super monkey and a 2-0-5 super monkey outside the sacrifice radius. At this point it was around round 120-130 and I upgraded to a sun god but for some reason my other 2 super monkey's didn't get sucked in and I didn't get an Avatar of the Vengeful monkey.

Did I do something wrong? I'm 100% sure I had monkey knowledge on because I was depositing money in my banks and I triple checked that all my towers were fully upgraded before I sacrificed them. How do I get an Avatar of the Vengeful Monkey?

I connected my Xbox 360 after 6 months and connected it to the LED, but it was not showing up on either HDMI 1 or HDMI 2. The remote is also not connecting (through wireless), which shows on Xbox but rather it keeps flashing. I have changed the HDMI cables too.

Does Resident Evil 7 require a VR headset?

I bought Resident Evil 7 recently on PS4 for a family member, but on the home screen under the title it says "PS VR". In the store it says that it's VR compatible but is a VR set necessary to play the game? I've tried looking it up but I can't find anything that says yes or no.

I have this farm with multiple layers that needs to change to make it compatible with 1.14.4 everywhere there is a blue ice block I want to place a layer of snow on top of it. I found the overlay command however this doesnt work as there are multiple layers in this farm. Is there an easy way to put a snow layer on top of every Blue ice block?

Minecraft 1.12.2

I want to create a re-spawn system for the enemies in the different map areas. I could use a counter on a scoreboard with an armor stand as the entity but with all the areas I have in my map I think it would cause lag.

For example:

I want 5 zombies in an area of 20 block, the player comes and kills 2 of them. The player leaves. The system re-spawns the dead mobs making a total of 5 again.

I know how to test if the player left the area:

/testfor @a[r={radius}]

But what I don't know how to test for the minimum amount of enemies without a scoreboard i can't make it.

I tried the Count modifier in the selector but I realized that is not how it works. I tried something like this:

/testfor @e[type={entity},r={radius},c={amount}]

but it would activate when there was only 1.

Is there a way too test for a minimum amount of mobs in a certain radius without a scoreboard?

How do I get Lydia to stop attacking people so I can progress in the quest?

I'm at the first quest in College of Winterhold and I came in with Lydia. Tolfdir wanted me to demonstrate the Ward spell but Lydia was in the middle and not moving at all and the quest wouldn't progress even though I used the spell. So I told her to stop following but suddenly she started attacking Tolfdir and everyone was attacking. Since she goes to a tired state, it became a loop where she would fight after getting up over and over again...

I love Lydia as a faithful housecarl and so I don't wanna kill her... So what should I do?

Info: I don't use any mods and only have the add-ons (Dawnguard and so on)

I've been playing the original Elite a lot via emulator and I was wondering if it's possible to destroy a space station (without cheating). Just a couple of shots on a station will cause three Vipers to come after you, so it would definitely be a challenge.

Miraak is stealing all my dragon souls

After reading the book Waking Dreams and seeing Miraak, I couldn't absorb a dragon's soul. I killed more than 10 dragons and Miraak took all the souls. Is this supposed to happen?

Just Cause 2 lost game

After 36 hours progress on Just Cause 2 - I got stuck, so I started a new game. It warned that this would overwrite autosave data but I went ahead and started a new game - does this mean I have totally lost the old game - all that 36 hours progress? Is there any way to bring that old game back - I mean surely the PS3 saves a certain amount of the progress somewhere? Please help!
