Does miner moss "dirtiness" have any relation to the amount of gold that can be expected?

Bit of a long question, but let me clear up the fuzz as best I can.

In Gold Rush : the Game, as part of the larger wash-plants, miner's moss is fitted to sluice-boxes towards the end of the recovery process. As the plant washes the pay-dirt, the gold collects in the miner's moss, amongst other places in the plant.

Now, I've noticed that, depending on the dirt that was loaded into the plant for washing, the miner's moss comes out in varying degrees of dirtiness (i.e. one set of 12 miner's moss is dirtier than another set of 12 miner's moss). To me, it would make sense that, the dirtier the moss, the better the gold is in clean up.

My question is this, does the dirtiness of the miner's moss have any relation to how much of gold you can be expecting from a clean up? Or is the dirtiness of moss mats purely cosmetic?

I was playing Minecraft Java edition and it was fine, but today when I started it up it got just to the end of the loading screen and stopped. It then crashed, and gave me the message Open jdk Platform Binary not responding. How do I fix this?

Failed to connect to the server (io.netty)

I recently started hosting a Minecraft server on my PC (Windows 10). I port forwarded and everything was working fine; I played with friends for a few days. However, today my router got unplugged while the server was running. No one was on it at the time but I'm fairly certain it was actively running. After I plugged the router back in I saw that I could not connect to the server via my IP and port but local connections work fine. I've gone through many youtube videos and made sure my firewall settings didn't get messed up and that nothing is being blocked but I'm stumped. It was working fine so I don't know why any of this would suddenly be an issue anyways.

Creating custom villages

I want to create some custom villages like jungle and swamp. I'm going to use structure files. But how can I implement them in an addon? Also, I need the villagers in the nether to grow nether warts.

What exactly will be missed by prematurely starting the expansion of The Division 2?

The Division 2 has one expansion to date: Warlords of New York. Starting it might fast forward your character progression and lock you out of specific content/gameplay.

The game itself warns about some non-replayable side missions and trophies which might turn unreachable.

Some players talked about some blueprints which might get unavailable retrospectively... True?

Is there a list of unreachable or non-replayable achievments/content/gameplay which I might miss by prematurely starting to play the expansion? (To possibly check it off one by one.)

I currently believe that nothing will be missed, if you exhaust all story main and side missions until reaching "World Tier 1". But is that true? (Or is there an earlier/later safe point in the game?)

Can someone confirm that all further "invaded" World Tier X missions can be (re-)launched at a later point?

How can I achieve a high decoration rating with Paddleboats?

My understanding is that the decoration rating of a ride can increase its excitement rating, and a higher excitement rating allows you to charge more for a ride. So for low excitement rides like the paddleboat, decorations seem to be really important. However, I'm having trouble getting the decoration rating for Paddleboats above "Bad", which is the lowest rating possible (I think).

Pictured below is an example of a paddleboat ride I've installed in Batavia Cay. As you can see, I've set up multiple decorations in the water area accessible to the paddleboats, as well as a few trees next to the ride queue. Despite this, however, I still have a decoration rating of "Bad".

Which trainers in Match Call are always unavailable for battle?

In Pokemon Emerald, a PokeNav feature called Match Call was added that allows you to keep track of certain NPC trainers and see whether or not they're available for a rematch. The trainers who are available for rematch at the moment have a tiny Pokeball icon next to their name:

Battling with these trainers will remove the icon from next to their name. It seems like only a finite number can be available for rematch at any given time, so it's necessary to battle some of them in order for others to become available.

I know that trainers who are not or cannot be registered typically cannot be battled again, but it seems like some trainers registered on Match Call, such as Young Couple Kira & Dan in the Abandoned Ship, are never available for a rematch. Others, like Triathlete Abigail on Cycling Road, are sometimes available. Is there anything that can be done to rematch trainers like Kira & Dan? If not, which trainers that are registered on Match Call will never be available for further battle?

What should a new player focus on?

Escape from Tarkov is a complex game, with many ways to "progress". As a new player, I feel like I am "running in circles", and not really moving forward. As such, I would like to know what is recommended for a new player to focus on. Examples include:

  • Player level (Lv. 10 unlocks the Flea Market, for example)
  • Trader level (New weapons, ammo, armor, etc.)
  • Money (Self explanatory)
  • Hideout
  • Cases for storage space

Right now, I feel myself trying to do "a bit of everything", and I feel like I end up not making progress in any of these things. What should I focus on?

Freeze issue when trying to use Nvidia

here's the issue : when I run Minecraft with my Nvidia gtx 1050 instead of Intel graphics it completely freezes a second after spawning. I tried other minecraft launchers, editing the memory allocated (-Xms4096 -Xmx6G !), downloading latest nvidia pilots, editing some settings, and even reinstalling Windows 10 Pro !

One thing is weird, but I think it's important I mention it : before I tried all these things (with my previous installation of Windows which is supposed to be the same) and before the issue, it worked : F3 As you can see, it worked even without a lot of memory allocated back then

Does hopping have an advantage?

I've noticed that in the game Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, you can make a little hop by pressing 'R'. Does hopping help you in any way? If so, how does it help you, and how do you use it? I was wondering if maybe it could also make you go faster if you went off road by accident.

When you lose a fight in The World Ends with You (DS version), you get an option to retry the fight or return to the main menu. If I level up during a fight then hit retry, do I keep the experience points I earned during the fight?

Unable to access System storage error (ps4)

Recently, I got my hands onto a ps4. The problem is, when I started it said "Cannot start the ps4. Please insert a USB drive with the 5.55 or higher reinstall files."
I did that and put it in. After it initialized, it got 20% of the way before stating "Cannot access the system storage. E-(something, will edit with code)"
I was ticked now. The heck?
All the tutorials on the web relate to a different error, thus I don't think they can help.
Can someone explain what's going on, and a way to FIX it?

In Bannerlord, what cavalry unit moves the fastest in a battle over perfectly flat terrain with time to get to its full speed, also, which calvalry unit moves fastest on the map, is there is a speed descrepancy between cavalry units?

Is there a way to unlock higher graphics settings?

I'm playing HOTS on my laptop, which has an integrated Intel card and an NVIDIA card. The game runs fine, automatically using the NVIDIA card, and the performance is great.

However, in the graphics settings menu, only the Intel card is listed, which locks some of the higher graphics settings, specifically the texture quality.

Is there a way to resolve this, perhaps by modifying some config files?

Why does the move Leech Seed have so many odd quirks?

The move Leech Seed sets a volatile status on the opponent Pokemon, draining its HP. However, I've noticed there are several strange quirks that are unique to this move that make me think it is somehow unique or fundamentally different from other moves. It's not the only move that casts a volatile status effect, so I can't think of anything that would make it truly unique. The particular quirks I've noticed are:

  • If the move misses (e.g. due to low Accuracy or a foe's high Evasiveness), the text given is not that the move missed, but that the foe "evaded the attack". This also happens if the move does not affect the opponent because the opponent has already been seeded, which is confusing.

  • For some odd reason, even with a foe that is under the influence of Attract, it seems like Leech Seed will never fail. The opponent is never immobilized by infatuation. No other move does this.

Is there any specific reason, technical or not, why this move has so many quirks?

Just in case it helps, I'm posting what I know so far from the disassembly of Pokemon Emerald.

I'm looking through the disassembly, and have found the relevant source code that causes the first quirk, although I still have no idea why it is done this way. From the function atk7F_setseeded:

This is in the function that is called whenever an attempt to seed the opponent is made. This tells me that, if the move has no effect for whatever reason, it communicates the string at position 1 (note that in C, arrays are zero-indexed, so position 1 is the second element). In gLeechSeedStringIds:

In other words, if the move results flag contains MOVE_RESULT_NO_EFFECT, then the string that is given is STRINGID_PKMNEVADEDATTACK, which just states that the opponent evaded the attack.

Breaking out of a neverending battle without leaving the match

Recently, I was in the Battle Factory in Pokemon Emerald and was put up against a Pokemon with maxed out defense stats. I was using Latias, and had the opponent's attack at the minimum. Unfortunately, all my other Pokemon had fainted and we were both low on PP. Normally this wouldn't be a problem, but we were both holding Leftovers. After about 40 minutes of struggling, I did the math to see the probability of one of us getting enough critical hits in a row to end the battle, and promptly decided it was best to just forfeit and end my 70-something winning streak.

What can I do in the future to get out of such endless battles without leaving the match?

How do I make a moving structure with command blocks?

So. I am trying to make a boat move in minecraft. I don't want all those noisy pistons and stuff, and I want to make it move like one block at a time I don't know how to use the clone command. Does anyone know how to make my boat move one block a time?, like the command. What command do I have to put because whenever I try I move it one block forward and to make the previous structure disappear. I want it to move 1 block at a time constantly. Anyone know how to do this, or the command?

On Minecraft PS3 can I set up a game that either of my daughters can access without split screen?

I suspect this is a simple question but I want to set up a game that either of my daughters can access on my PS3 but which, when there's only one of them playing, doesn't split the screen and require the other player to be in the game.

I want a game either of them can join and play as their own character without the other being present.

What's the most efficient Minecraft mining strategy?

When I'm not exploring fresh caves or lands in minecraft, I'm busy trying to find deposits of diamond, gold and iron deep in the earth. So far I've just been digging around just above bedrock on a whim to look for these rare minerals but I've started thinking that I should be taking a more controlled, efficient approach to mining.

What is the optimal mining strategy that yields the most rare minerals while minimizing blocks removed and time spent digging and traveling?

Edit: The existing answers are great for mining, but no one has addressed travel time to and from the mine which is usually ~60 blocks downward and incredibly tedious. Solutions?
