How to prevent a(n old) fullscreen game from moving windows to the secondary screen?

Posted: 09 Nov 2021 03:45 AM PST

When I play some older fullscreen games (e.g. Diablo 2 or Rollercoaster Tycoon 3), their switching the primary monitor (left one) to a lower resolution somehow causes all open and maximized windows to be moved to the secondary monitor (on the right), where the will remain even after closing the game. How can this be prevented?

I've already found some related questions but they differ:

Since the games are old enough a circumvention would be running them in a VM with video scaling to my native resolution, but that's not ideal. I do however wonder if there exists a tool which can create a "virtual" kind of monitor into which the game is restricted but which is then displayed scaled up without requiring as many resources as a full VM.

Where in Tarkov can I find the WZ Wallet?

Posted: 09 Nov 2021 02:56 AM PST

Fence has sent me to collect a few "hard to find" items, most of which were not too hard to guess where they would be found. Except one. The WZ Wallet. The description says

The same as any simple wallet, but fancier.

I found the food items together with other foodstuff, the antiques in buried caches and the figurines in safe boxes. But the wallet is puzzling me, there does not seem to be an obvious place for it to be found at, except maybe safe boxes (because it is about valuables), but I think I tried enough of those to rule out that option.

I am starting to wonder whether I may be missing some knowledge about the person the item is dedicated to that is required to (WillerZ) understand where or how the item is at least somewhat likely to be seen.

Is it possible to drop a redstone torch so it powers something?

Posted: 09 Nov 2021 02:27 AM PST

On the black plasma animation "Survival" a character sets up a redstone trap. In one of the sequences, a dropper (or dispenser, couldn't tell) is activated and drops a restone torch. this torch falls nearby a powered rail and activates it. Is this actually possible to do in game?

How to make items not stackable

Posted: 08 Nov 2021 02:31 PM PST

I made item frames with items that keep replacing themselves, so I can get the items infinitely by clicking on it, but I don't want these items to stack.

I know I can make items unstackable with tags, but I don't know how I will put a different tag for each item.

I thought about scoreboards that would increase when I pick up these items and then, based on the score, add a tag to the nearest dropped item of that type, but that would not work in multiplayer.

How does luck affect you in Diaries of a Spaceport Janitor

Posted: 08 Nov 2021 12:26 PM PST

In Diaries of a Spaceport Janitor the game revolves almost entirely around luck, but it's so ethereal it isn't clear how it actuals affects gameplay. Does luck affect the quality of trash left on the ground, sale prices, or likelihood of your municipal credits being eaten by a Red Scarf?

Having either high or low luck doesn't seem to modify the gameplay seriously. My credits are still consumed and life is still difficult. The game, being as allegorical as it is, may not actually use the stat as an analogy for hoping for luck to help one escape poverty. But the game's mechanics are so connected to the idea of luck I don't want to assume one way or the other.

How to kill every armor stand that doesn't have a head?

Posted: 08 Nov 2021 06:46 PM PST

I need a command to kill every armor stand that has air in his head.

I tried using /kill @e[type=minecraft:armor_stand,nbt={ArmorItems:[{},{},{},{}]}] and also tried /kill @e[type=minecraft:armor_stand,nbt={ArmorItems:[{},{},{},{id:"minecraft:air"}]}]

I have armor stands with heads you can right click to pick up, but I want them to die after someone click their head.

Giving zombie villagers multiple apples or curing them multiple times?

Posted: 08 Nov 2021 12:10 PM PST

If you give a zombie villager in Minecraft more than one golden apple, will it give you better trades than if you only give it one golden apple? And if you cure it more than once, will it give you better trades than if you only cured it once?
If so, how many trades can you do before it won't do better trades?

I am playing on Bedrock Edition but on a Java Edition Server, so if they are different then please specify both if you can.

Where can I quickly get a list of all Minecraft blocks?

Posted: 09 Nov 2021 03:09 AM PST

The title may be a bit unclear so let me explain a bit better;

I want a list of every block currently in game for a datapack I'm working on. To be clear which way I want them:

acacia_button acacia_door acacia_fence acacia_fence_gate acacia_leaves acacia_log acacia_planks acacia_pressure_plate acacia_sapling acacia_sign acacia_slab acacia_stairs acacia_trapdoor acacia_wall_sign acacia_wood

These are the first 15 from the list I've been typing so far. And I am kind of getting really bored of typing them one by one. I'm currently at 300 blocks but only at end_portal_frame. In other words, only at the E.

I was wondering if there's maybe a list somewhere, especially for every update so I don't have to change my list every update...

If not, I'll just finish mine for 1.17 and upload it somewhere so at least others can enjoy not having to type them one by one.

In case you're wondering why I would need this list. I am making a check for projectiles that checks which blocks they can pass through and which not and I want it as complete and accurate as possible.

What are the punishments for leaving/dodging League of Legends games?

Posted: 08 Nov 2021 01:20 PM PST

My question is about dodging and leaving games and their punishments. I need to know if there is a specific chart that tells me how many times I can dodge/leave games without being punished, and if I do get punished what is the punishment?

How do I change Minecraft Java for Linux game instance directory location?

Posted: 09 Nov 2021 03:03 AM PST

NOTE: The system I am talking about is Linux which has different file system from Windows, meaning %APPDATA%/.minecraft is non-existent in Linux

So I have installed Pop!_OS to learn linux and I have game save from Windows 10 stored in a external drive following this page. Now that I have installed Minecraft from official site, how do I tell the Minecraft in Linux where to look for the game saves and account information?

LoL - slow loading/recovery of client after game ends

Posted: 09 Nov 2021 02:03 AM PST

Since a certain patch - I cannot determine which one, like 6 months ago - I began experiencing an issue where my client is stuck on a "Game in progress..." screen for a minute after I finish a game. I tried:

  • reinstalling LoL
  • reinstalling LoL to a brand new SSD
  • moving my TEMP/TMP directories to said SSD
  • killing the LeagueOfLegends.exe process after game
    • this seemed to have an effect as opposed to the other tries: The client returns to the post-game screen immediately, but is extremely slow - graphs load slowly, returning to the party screen (Play again) works, but my friends do not see me as connected, after the minute passes (during which no actions are viable) a lot of screens blink and then the party screen opens again and everything works
  • letting the client close during a game
    • this just causes it to open immediately and then proceed with "Game in progress..." as before.

Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?

Proslife PS4 Controller Bluetooth Not Working On Windows 10

It is connected to the PC via Bluetooth and the input test works when running JOY.CPL, it even works on the controller menu in Steam settings. But in-game, the controller is not detected. It also doesn't seem to be detected by DS4Windows. Please help, I am losing hope.

Is everyone in Bloodborne blind?

Posted: 08 Nov 2021 09:32 PM PST

In Bloodborne, a lot of the NPCs are wearing some form of eye covering, or showing some form of astigmatism. Until recently, I didn't think much of it until a Youtuber (during a Bloodborne playthrough) stated that everyone was blind.

This does make sense, especially with the concept of "insight" (or sight using the mind's eye), as well as the items like the "eye of a Blood-drunk Hunter", etc.

So, in Bloodborne, is everyone blind? And if so, what is the lore behind it?

Is it possible to sync all my games to steam from Epic Games Launcher, and Microsoft Store?

Posted: 08 Nov 2021 11:38 AM PST

As the title states, is it possible that I could import my games from Microsoft Store, Epic Games Launcher, into Steam, so they can be launched from Steam?

An example is I have Totally Accurate Battle Simulator on Microsoft Store because of Xbox GamePass, (I have an Xbox too), So is it possible that I can add the game from Add a non steam game Feature to add the game?

I tried but could not find the right .exe file. Do I have to add it from the Original Download location on my PC? And will it then show up in my steam library?

I would like someone to tell me if it is possible

How can I make a command execute if there is a player looking at another player?

Posted: 08 Nov 2021 05:05 PM PST

I want to make an execute command execute if any player is looking at any other player. I haven't been able to find anything about this online, so I am wondering if it is possible at all. I've tried some different commands to do this, but I accidentally removed them so I don't have the commands. They didn't work so I guess that doesn't matter.

How do you change to a double skin in agario?

I've noticed some people have a skin. When they duplicate, the second skin is different.

How do you get those?

Look at the player "Mexicano" in the picture below. His original skin was green but the duplicates are a mushroom

Mechanics of this observer stabilizer?

Posted: 09 Nov 2021 12:03 AM PST

enter image description here

Wu Qiufeng built this observer stabilizer on Youtube yesterday.

It looks really attractive and efficient but also confusing to me. Could someone tell me why the second pulse is prevented from firing the piston? Thanks.enter image description here

enter image description here

I just did some further experiments on this contraption and placed under the observer a movable block instead of the melon. Now it gets stuck in this common observer piston loop. However, the fact that the sticky piston does not abort on the falling edge of the first pulse and pulls back the stone to its original position is unexpected and attracts my attention since I assume that observers always emit pulses of 1 redstone tick length, which theoretically would result in the abortion of sticky pistons (e.g. they leave the movable block on the off pulse and retracts itself without it). Does this suggest that the observer on the top layer contribute to the extension of the first pulse to at least 1.5 redstone ticks? If so, how does that happen? I thought the two horozontally placed observers would react simultaneously.

Villagers Keep Destroying my Crops (Bedrock 1.14)

Posted: 08 Nov 2021 12:45 PM PST

My villagers don't trample my crops but recently, they've been trying to harvest them like the crops are their own and it's extremely annoying because they often replace my crop with a completely different one! I tried to prevent that from happening by putting iron doors in the outsides of all my structures but somehow a few of the learned how to open the doors so the problem continues. I have resorted to killing some of the villagers but I don't want to have to kill some of my higher level villagers because they have some very useful trades I can take advantage of for my next big projects in that particular survival world. I play on bedrock edition 1.14 on Xbox so the villagers really have better trades. Also, I had expanded my village by adding 20+ small cube buildings in hopes to having more villagers to trade from (which worked but overpopulation has caused many issues such as this one). Now, with having twice the amount of villagers as before, there are also that many more iron golems. What do you guys propose I do? I have had to make multiple modifications already to more than one of my farming facilities. I want to know if any of you can come up with an easier solution than than destroying all the extra buildings I made and killing over half the villagers and fighting the now 6 iron golems.

Summoned Items Pop Out of Blocks

Posted: 08 Nov 2021 03:02 PM PST

I'm trying to summon an item inside a glass block (it's not because it's transparent or even glass, I tried with concrete too, an it still happened), but it just jumps out, which defeats the purpose of it being in the block. Does anyone know what I can do to stop this from happening?

Faster reacting Comparator

Posted: 08 Nov 2021 07:04 PM PST

I am making a fully working FNAF 2 Minecraft multi-player gamemode! I plan to publish it when I am completely done and fixed all bugs. This isn't a bug, it's just that I have the right idea, but I don't know how to do it! As you may know, in FNAF 2 when certain animatronics get into your office or near it, you put on the spare Freddy head to fool them into thinking you are one of them. I have made this feature but I have to use a comparator to detect the player putting it on! And it is a few ticks (1-3) to slow! It's a tiny diffrent you might think, but it's not fair if he is holding it and in those few ticks the animatronic kills him. Any help on how to make a instant reacting comparator-type command creation? Thanks.

Why is my Minecraft chat invisible?

Posted: 08 Nov 2021 05:47 PM PST

I have accounts for my two kids. The eldest, age 7, has a laptop. The youngest, 5, has a PC that hosts a multiplayer LAN game. We can join no problem, I can use my own account no problem. However, on the 5-year-old's PC, he can't chat or see any chat at all. I've done exhaustive Googling and playing with the chat settings. Chat is on Shown.

However, chat is simply not showing up. We can use console commands and they work, but we get no system message. If I type something on the PC (5 y/o) account, the laptop can see it, but we (the speaker) cannot. It's as if chat works, but is invisible. I'm sure the kid has done something because I often find him playing in the settings. Does anyone have an idea how to get chat to show even if invisible?

How do you fix the map "green arrow" bug?

Posted: 08 Nov 2021 02:00 PM PST

I've encountered a map bug in 1.6.4 SMP, which is similar to this one explained in the wiki:

Currently, placing a map on a wall in SMP using an Item Frame possibly causes an issue with maps held by players in which the location marker for the players 'disappear' under explored regions of the map, and preventing unexplored regions from becoming 'explored', effectively making all maps on the server useless. Deleting all of the map.dat files in the world data folder, as well as the idcount.dat file resolves the issue, unless players have maps in their inventory.

The difference is that despite not showing my marker, it does explore new areas, contrary to what is written there.

Also, "Deleting all of the map.dat files in the world data folder, as well as the idcount.dat file resolves the issue" is kind of vague: it may solve the issue, but does it cause any problem? Or are these only cache-like files?

Approximately how many treks are required to get 1 follower from level 1 to 99 in Runescape's Temple Trekking Activity?

Posted: 08 Nov 2021 10:54 PM PST

I've read various wiki articles and guides on how to get through the activity, and playing a few routes, I noticed that the number of levels that a companion levels up each time seems to gradually decrease as his level increases. However, none of the guides I've looked at give me any idea of how many times I'll have to play this game to level up my companions. Does anyone know an approximate, ballpark number for how many trips it would take to get each tier of companion (easy, medium, hard) up to level 99?
