| Posted: 09 Aug 2021 03:43 AM PDT Before going into details of the issue, here's some specs: I'm running an FTB direwolf20 modpack(v 1.10.1) server. The minecraft version that's coming with that is 1.16.5 The server is running on a completely different PC but on my own Local Network, connected to the same router as my client PC. The server has a static IP. Server specs: 24gb ram (from which the server gets 18gb), intel i5 6600. My internet according to ISP: 500mbps download, 20mbps upload. And now, for the issue: We've been playing together with friends on a server I host for a week or so now, since I'm running the server 24-0 people started noticing that whenever I connect to it, they'll instantly start noticing very bad connection problems, however I wasn't experiencing that, since I'm connected locally. The moment I disconnect, the issue stops, and everyone goes back to having good connection. This made me curious to why this happens, so I started monitoring the network traffic of the server PC and turns out they're correct. The server when I'm not on:

Naturally I was like "hey wtf c': don't do this" but I just couldn't find why this is happening. I got wireshark and started monitoring what really happens. and it's basically a billion packets with [ACK] and [PSH,ACK] tags, using TCP (the data itself is encrypted). But that's not the worst part. The worst part is, that I increase everyone else's internet use with this, because clients communicate between each other too, so the images you see there, the big network spike happens to all my friends too, when I'm on the server. It's like my minecraft wants to ddos everyone. So I assume two things.: a) there's a network loop somewhere idk where or how could I find that. b) since I'm connecting locally, the server detects low latency and thinks it's ok to update everything about my connection every nanosecond, and just floods the router with packets, choking everyone else out. I couldn't find any solution to that, not even this happening to anyone else, so I'm turning to this forum. If you have any idea why this could be happening, please help.  |
| Game identification: Commodore 64 "Monster hunting" game Posted: 09 Aug 2021 02:03 AM PDT My older brothers used to play a game on the Commodore 64 (I believe - there's a chance it was a very early PC game but I'm pretty sure it was on the C64) which I'd be curious to see/find again. The player took on the role of an archer of some description, placed in a 2d landscape where they could move around left and right, eventually coming full circle in a relatively small environment. Enemies would approach from "inside the screen", and the goal was to hit them with the arrows before they arrived at the player (and ate them). I don't remember too many enemy types but there were definitely giant spiders coming towards the sceen at some point. The most distinct part I remember is the "boss battle" which happened after so and so many levels had been beat. The player had to stare at the horizon, watching for some pixels to shift somewhat subtly and remember and aim at the location. Then, lightning would crack and for a brief moment, the boss (a demon/devil looking fiend) would appear, and you had to hit him with an arrow for the brief appearance. This would repeat several times as the boss comes closer each time. Either you hit him often enough during that period, winning the game, or the boss suddenly appears above you, descending slowly and apparently devour the player. Could anyone help me identifying this game? What's the name?  |

Posted: 09 Aug 2021 02:38 AM PDT I recently started a new playthrough of Skyrim, and I want to get the archery skillbook in Helgen Keep. According to the wiki, that skillbook doesn't show up until bandits take over the keep. How long do I have to wait (I just completed "Unbound") until that happens, so I can kill the bandits, get the skillpoints from them, and get the skillbook?  |

For example, hunters buy hunting trophies for x2 price compared to other traders, and thieves pay more for jewelry. However, I was unable to confirm this: any items that I've tested turn out to have the same price when trading with Kliff, Sebastian, Marlo, Seruk, and Urkrass. I am, however, using Content Mod, Quest Pack, and Alternative Balancing of the Community Patch. Did they change item pricing? Or are special prices for certain items originally nothing but an illusion?  |
| How is leisure/tourism calculated for nearby buildings? Posted: 08 Aug 2021 08:56 PM PDT I recently realized I need more leisure/tourism buildings in my city. I started plopping down Japanese Gardens and Skateparks, happily seeing my buildings turn from red to white on the map. But sometimes, putting down a new park would do nothing for buildings literally right by the park. So my question: how is the leisure/tourism boost calculated for nearby buildings? It appears to be related to walking distance/accessibility, and possibly is greatly diminished across 4- or 6-lane roads, but I can't figure out the specifics. If it helps, I'm playing the vanilla Nintendo Switch version.  |
| Playstation 5 Network Issues with Store and Now Posted: 08 Aug 2021 06:34 PM PDT I have a launch Playstation 5 and when connected to wireless, or wired, it randomly cannot access anything on the store or Now. In so far as I can tell other things work and if you go to the network settings it shows everything connected and working. A restart usually fixes it, or if I run a network test. I have an Xbox as well which encounters no issues and is in the same area. I've been to the completely useless support site but no matter what sequences I try nothing gets me to the ability to chat with or email someone. My location is Canada. Yes restarting is a solution but not something I ever had to do with the PS3 or PS4 Pro I had previously. Ideas?  |

I do not have spike factories, acid pool alchemists, or Specter.. Or Apache. Just using 2 2-0-4 wizards, Few Moab maulers, and cluster bomb. (And monkey bank, but I don't think that matters)  |
| What does the FN key actually do? Posted: 08 Aug 2021 08:37 PM PDT I like speedrunning, my PB is about 30 minutes, but my most reset-heavy condition is finding a nether fortress. I've watched some tutorials about how to "Pie-Ray", which, requires getting up the pie chart in the F3 debug screen, and seeing if there is a spawner in it, then going to the next chunk to see if it's that direction. But, something about my computer really hinders the speed of that. If I press F3, alone, my Windows would just up the sound by a bit, if I press F3 + fn, it will show the debug, but if I I want to close it immediately by doing the same F3 + fn, it will up the sound. Why is it this? What I'm really after is what does the fn key do anyway? Does it enables the other function of the F3, for a brief period of time? Or is it a toggle switch? I would really want to know the answer. Thank you in advance for all help :)  |

| Looking for the name of an old game [closed] Posted: 08 Aug 2021 05:37 PM PDT I've been searching for a certain game for quite a few years, all I remember is that aliens try to take over your world and spy on you from the trash bins, you can dance on school tables, you can fly on a pet dragon I think, you travel down into sewers on a lift and at the end of each sewer there was a giant bulldog you had to give a bone to get the key he was guarding. I'm pretty sure it was a comical adventure game of some sort. Ring any bells? Been driving me insane for years.  |

| Request for Steam keys for free game - is this a scam? Posted: 08 Aug 2021 07:44 PM PDT I recently converted my own paid Steam game into a free game. Since then, I got two requests (one via Discord, and one via email) for a Steam key for the game. Is this a scam, or harmful in any way (to me or to Steam)? The only possibility I can think of is that giving a key to someone with an account without any paid games, legitimizes them (they look like a real/paying account, which unlocks ... something, I don't remember what). The second request mentioned that "free-to-play games don't show up properly in the library," which seems like misinformation to me. I've played a number of free games on Steam, and never saw any issues with them.  |

Not allowed to undock even if the required skills were learned during some earlier subscribed period of time. With a purchase from the new expert system, though, an alpha clone may temporarily unlock access to mining barge required skills. Are alpha clones then able to undock a mining barge during the duration of their purchase?  |

However, I have gone back to school and took it with me. I want to find some way in which I could run it so I could play on it myself. I know I could just move the world files to my solo, but in the past I have been unable to move world files back into my servers files, and I would also want to keep player data.  |
| PS4 pro is bricked after update error su-30746 Posted: 09 Aug 2021 12:03 AM PDT So I just booted up my PS4 after maybe a month or two of inactivity from it, then noticed I had a pending software update. So then I proceeded to update and install the firmware that was downloading and once it had finnished installing, it failed to restart back to the homescreen. So then after manually booting it back up I get an error su-30746-0 which means "could not find file required for system software update," according to Google. So after trying to find a solution on the internet, I found that there is a simple fix for this and that is to boot it up in safe mode by holding down the power button on the PS4 until I hear two beeps. Once I finally get it in safe mode I'm instructed to plug my controller in via a USB cable and press the PS button however that part doesn't work, So it stays stuck in safe mode with the message "connect a duelshock 4 via USB and press the PS button". When I try to power on my controller it just blinks with a few lights then nothing, so basically im unable to access the safe mode options. I've tested the cables and found that they work, so I've ruled the issue out to be that the PS4 will not communicate with the controllers in anyway. At this point I'm seeing no hope in getting back into my console, so I just thought that maybe someone here can give an alternative solution that I may not already know about. If anyone knows a solution to giving my PS4 its OS back, and getting around this, I'd really appreciate it <3. For the time being, I still have a gaming PC to play fallout 4, skyrim, among us, fallguys, and csgo on so I'm not totally video game deprived, I just wont be apart of that MK 11 DLC that I was strongly anticipating :(  |
| What is the weapon damage range formula? Posted: 09 Aug 2021 01:14 AM PDT When a gun is firing past the "effective damage range," what is the formula to calculate how much damage it does? For example a Thompson does 38 damage and has an effective range of 90 meters, when I am shooting someone at 100 meters, how much damage would I do? What is the formula for that? I am attempting to make an Excel sheet on weapon damage and how much they do past the effective damage range for each gun, so whoever can help me with this I would greatly appreciate it.  |
| Posted: 08 Aug 2021 04:04 PM PDT So I am on the latest version of Minecraft 1.14.4 I know that in the past version of Minecraft when using the inventory and moving items you can click and hold and just run your mouse over all the items to move them into a chest or into your inventory. Now I have to click each individual item in order to move it into my inventory. Is this a glitch or did they genuinely take that part of the programming out? Please help, I have tried re-installing my game, and restarting it. In the modded versions of minecraft it works for me, but in the classic vanilla, it doesn't...  |

I downloaded them on the hard drive I use to play GTA 5 instead of the memory unit and it says that they are all installed but it still won't let me play. Do I have to download it on the memory unit or is there something wrong with the hard drive?  |
