Is there a way to get my librarians back after they were just killed by zombies?

Posted: 04 Jul 2021 07:10 PM PDT

I have my own server running Minecraft version 1.17.

After hours of trying to get the best librarian trades, I have them all. However, just before going AFK, they where killed by a zombie. I killed the server, and logged out, but I was too late. All my librarians were killed.

Is there a way to get them back? Maybe something that will undo the last 20 deaths? All I found was a spawn villager command, but that does not seem to have a parameter for the book you want the librarian to sell.

How do I fix a corrupted minecraft file?

Posted: 04 Jul 2021 09:10 PM PDT

I can open the minecraft launcher, but after I log in, the game doesn't open. I have tried the solution to go to %appdata% and delete the minecraft. file, but I can't delete the file. When I try to delete it says, "An unexpected error is keeping you from deleting the file." I have Error 0x80070570: The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable.

Menu Screen Display Jumbled (Minecraft)

Posted: 04 Jul 2021 09:13 PM PDT

enter image description here

On the menu screen, the GUI and the display overall are distorted. It looks very chaotic and "jumbled?". It also appears to be not fully rendered. Before the menu screen, only "MOJ" is visible instead of "MOJANG." I've looked everywhere, but no one seems to be encountering the same problem. I'm not entirely sure what is causing this to happen, alongside its solution. So can anyone help identify and guide me to solve this issue?

Is there a way to revert Fallout 3 back to a previous version?

Posted: 04 Jul 2021 11:35 PM PDT

Building on my previous question about VaultMP.

I am now trying to get VaultMP to work with Fallout 3, but the launcher states that my game version is not supported.

My game version is 1.7.0.3, the latest version of the game. It should also be known that this is a non-Steam version of the game. The game automatically updates to 1.7.0.3 when installed on a new PC from the CD.

Is there a way of rolling back the game a version or two? Like to version 1.6 or 1.5?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Projectiles extremely inaccurate on our server

Posted: 05 Jul 2021 12:35 AM PDT

Aiming cross at the center of the wood block, bow fully drawn, never moving the cursor, distance: 16 blocks, this is the spread I achieve.

enter image description here

And this is my shooting from 32 blocks away, aiming at the upper edge of the wool target, horizontally center.

enter image description here

This abysmal accuracy doesn't only apply to bows - all projectiles, including enderpearls, snowballs, eggs, fly with extreme amount of randomness, much worse than on any other regular server I played on. The difficulty is set to Hard. This happens regardless of TPS lag, network lag, or who's doing the shooting. Achievements like "Sniper Duel" are a total pipe dream, at 50 blocks the arrows have several chunks of spread. Nobody, including the admin, has a clue why this happens, and how to fix it. Can anybody help?

How to host multiple minecraft servers on the same IP>=?

Posted: 04 Jul 2021 12:05 PM PDT

i just started a minecraft server for me and one of my friend groups to use, but i'd also like a separate server for my other friends. I downloaded the server file again, made a new folder, did all the same things I had done to start up the first server, and I used Port Map to create a new port. Now, I've heard you're supposed to log in to your router to do this, however, after looking up my ipv4 address online and entering it in my browser, nothing showed up. The port number i used with port map is 25566, as opposed to the first, which was 25565. To test if this server worked, I tried joining it my putting in my IP, adding a colon, and adding the new port, so it looked something like 111.222.333:25566 , however, it didn't work. This is the method I had found online, though it wasn't a very detailed explanation, and i'd like to find a way to do this. If anyone can help me out, that would be greatly appreciated.

For KJBuilds, here's what's going on when I try to log in with my IP address. enter image description here

How do I align the version numbers of my Epic and Steam versions so I can play together?

Posted: 04 Jul 2021 09:04 PM PDT

How do I align the version numbers of my Epic and Steam versions so I can play together?

The Epic Games version is BORDERLANDSTPS-2.0.0

The Steam version is BORDERLANDSTPS-1.0.7...

I've seen a downgrade online, that seems to be for 1.0.7... Could I apply that to my Epic Games version??

Or, do I get SHiFT accounts and use that to connect the games? Although, my Steam version doesn't seem to have any way to connect with SHiFT?

I'm trying to find a way to log the command block output on a Minecraft Bedrock Realm

Posted: 04 Jul 2021 11:00 AM PDT

I've been messing around with command blocks recently, and I need to be able to 'log' my command block output.

I can see the last output it had

'Gave 1 diamond to JackOBoi04' (example)

but I am trying to find a way to take said output, and log it in a book, or something like so even when I'm offline, when I come back online I can look back at the list of said command block's output, from when I was offline.

How can I earn "Car Collector" achievement in Rocket League?

Posted: 05 Jul 2021 01:01 AM PDT

"Car Collector" achievement says that you need to unlock 5 cars to get it. If I recall correctly I started with 3 initial cars and I've already unlocked more than 5, here is my garage with 13 cars:

133-cars-in-my-garage

I've tried to follow this guide - I finished the Season Championship and then got 1 win for all of my cars in Exhibition mode, but still cannot unlock this achievement or get more cars. Looks like something was changed in recent F2P update.

How can I unlock this achievement now?

I play on PS4.

Is there a way to add free DLC so that it's queued and downloaded without starting the game?

Posted: 04 Jul 2021 01:00 PM PDT

To download my Steam games and their updates/DLC, I queue them up on my laptop which downloads them to portable HDDs. When I want them on my gaming PC, I copy the games from the portable HDDs (I am working on scripts to automate the process).
Generally, I buy the games and DLC using the browser, either on my laptop or on a different computer altogether (like at work).

When Borderlands 2: Commander Lilith and the Fight for Sanctuary was released for free, I went to get it, since I have all the other Borderlands 2 DLC, and wanted to get it ready for whenever I would have the chance to play Borderlands 2 while waiting for my new system, as my PC at that time was not able to run it.

As I have never been able to add free DLC to the cart via the browser, I booted up the client and added it through that. However, after it had downloaded, Borderland 2 tried to boot up on my struggling laptop, but I was able to terminate the process.

I'm not sure if this was a one-off with Borderlands 2 or not, but I would like to be able to get free DLC similar to how I get paid DLC: by adding it to the cart and letting it either trigger as an "update" able to be downloaded, or let it download only when I get around to downloading the base game.

So: is there a way to add free DLC to a game on Steam so that it's queued and/or downloaded, but not let it start the game directly after?

While this question is almost the same, the issue I'm having is that I already follow the procedure mentioned there for paid DLC. Free DLC, unlike what that answer indicates, does not get registered:

Free DLC

Notice when Download is clicked

Hovering over the first button shows a Steam app URL which won't work on a system that doesn't have Steam installed, and the second button goes to this About page.

Also, the URL the Download button here links to is different from what is presented in that answer:

Do Yorick's Ghouls (and other Spawnable entities) trigger Ravenous Hunter?

Posted: 04 Jul 2021 09:08 AM PDT

Do Yorick's ghouls and the damage they deal count as ability damage, and specifically, would they trigger the rune Ravenous Hunter, and heal me based on the damage they deal? I can not find conclusive evidence.

Can you have the same game on multiple SD cards for Nintendo 2DS?

Posted: 05 Jul 2021 12:47 AM PDT

A common problem for Nintendo 2/3DS games is that they offer just one save game. I'm looking at you, Pokemon. If you want to start a new game, you need to erase all progress of the last one. This creates a problem if there is just one copy of a game, but several people who would like to play it.

If the game is on a cartridge, you're out of luck. But what about if you bought it on eShop and installed on an SD card? Can you take 2 SD cards (cheap these days), download the game on each of them (using the same console) and effectively get 2 save slots? Whoever wants to play just pops in their own SD card and continues where they left off?

Reading other answers here and on the Internet seems to suggest that this is possible, but I couldn't find any outright confirmation. Can anyone confirm if this works?

If it matters, my particular console is the New 2DS XL.

Minecraft: share edits to "Master" world

Posted: 04 Jul 2021 03:06 PM PDT

We're recreating the town we live in in Minecraft and would like to maintain a master copy of the town. Users can play in the map but not edit the master.

We've used Lidar for our topological source map but there's a lot of work to do in adding detail. We'd like others to contribute, such as by changing the appearances of buildings and making trees more realistic. It's only a small town (Blandford, Dorset) but changing the materials.

Is it possible to have this Master copy edited by multiple contributors simultaneously at different locations?

Does the dojo dissapear when clan owner joins another clan?

Posted: 04 Jul 2021 05:43 PM PDT

Say that the owner of the clan is the only one active, and has this massive dojo that spent a very long time building it... Suddenly considers joining another clan.

What's gonna happen to its own dojo?

  • Will it dissapear in thin air?
  • Does title pass to the next member?
  • What if there's no other member in it?
  • What happens with all the resources used in the dojo, especially formas?

Unable To Capture The Last City in a Region?

Posted: 04 Jul 2021 06:05 PM PDT

I recently picked up a copy of Mount & Blade: Warband and am still fairly new. I have managed to capture almost all of a region on the Campaign map, but I am unable to besiege the last city. What am I doing wrong? Do I need to somehow overthrow the king, or is there some other, more obvious way that I simply haven't noticed?

Highest overall armor?

Posted: 04 Jul 2021 08:02 PM PDT

I wanted to make the tank build, trying to get the highest overall effective health. Smelter armor is good for fire def, havels for def, dark set for dark def. What would be the most balanced, elemental and physical armor combination?

Using Steam backup to store game files and saves on different drives

Posted: 04 Jul 2021 05:03 PM PDT

I am going to be getting a new computer with an SSD next week and want to be able to effectively preload my games (i.e. not have to start over or transfer save data manually). As I see it, I want the game files to be on the SSD and the game saves on a HD. I have an external HD.

Is backing up my games (via the Steam backup command) the correct thing to do?

What is the difference between cave spiders and regular spider loot?

Posted: 04 Jul 2021 12:25 PM PDT

It seems that killing cave spiders is easier than killing regular spiders to me. Is there a difference in the loot bonuses (mob spawners, mob crushers) or are they generally the same thing just in different areas?

Does Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood build on the saved game from Assassin's Creed II?

Posted: 04 Jul 2021 04:12 PM PDT

Some games (like Mass Effect 2) build on the saved games from earlier versions by allowing the player to keep going with the choices they'd made earlier. Assassin's Creed isn't big on non-linearity, but my ACII character does have nice armor, weapons, and some cash.

Will AC: Brotherhood notice that saved game and pick up information from it or does Brotherhood always start from scratch?

What important differences are there between the various online game distributors?

Posted: 05 Jul 2021 12:19 AM PDT

Last weekend, I decided I was going to buy a couple of games, which I haven't done in a while. I seem to remember a time when your choices consisted of either Steam, or... Steam. Now there seems to be a dizzying array of choices, including:

None of these companies really seem to try very hard to explain why you should buy from them as opposed to some other distributor, so I resorted to trying (and failing) to infer it from the fine print.

Eventually I gave up on doing any actual research and just (a) tried Amazon at random, only to find that they won't sell to Canadians, then (b) tried Steam at random, only to give up after being repeatedly railed by their CAPTCHA, then finally (c) tried D2D at random and actually succeeded in making it all the way to a download.

I have no idea what I actually got myself into. All I know is that I can play my games. I guess that makes me exactly the sort of consumer these companies want. Generally, I like to be a little more well-informed when it comes to purchasing.

When I choose one of these online stores, what am I actually choosing, other than price and availability?

Are these games just commodities, like the loaf of pre-packaged bread I can buy from any supermarket, or is there something about them that actually varies from one retailer to the next? Are there any interesting tidbits I might find in the TOS, or something else that might come back to bite me later - like, maybe, being unable to play my games if I get a new PC or if the company goes belly-up? Can some of them cut off my access one day on a whim and demand a hefty ransom? Anything else that might be useful for me to know?

P.S. I found this question about digital distribution services but it's basically in poll format, doesn't mention a lot of the services listed above, and much of what's in there seems to be (no offense to those who answered) vague statements based on personal opinions. I'm not looking for a list of digital distributors or recommendations, I want to actually understand my options and be able to make an intelligent decision next time I go to buy a game.
