How would I create a circuit that gives an output similar to the one of a button when a block behind is powered with a lever but not when not powered?

Sorry about the length of the title of this question. I have a circuit where I am trying to get an output like the one of a button from an observer looking at a piece of redstone dust that is powered by a lever. This is obviously simple enough, but the catch is that I only want the observer to give an output when the redstone dust it is observing is powered on, not when it turns off. I have tried so many different ways. The time it takes the redstone dust that the observer is observing varies every time by the way. A quick reply would really be appreciated! Thank you!

How did the old text simulator games work?

As a child I played text simulator games on the ZX Spectrum and pre 486 PC. I'm remembering things like early football manager games, or like a stock market simulator where you buy shares and watch them go up or down in value. It seemed like everything was based on more or less random numbers influenced by some actions you took and also by simulated global events like a stock market crash.

How did these old games work? Is there a standard way of thinking about this kind of "time progressing, events happen based on numbers, you can influence the numbers" game?

When a new sim comes along like Startup Company or X Tycoon, has that developer built everything from scratch or are there standard game engine pieces or libraries that everyone starts with?

How do I progress Farkas' companion story line?

I've beaten both the "Hired Muscle" and "Trouble in Skyrim" quests, and every time I ask someone in the circle about a job, they just say "aren't you already running a job for Farkas?"

I'm not. I want to marry Farkas, but I can't get any further with the companion story line. How do I progress Farkas' companion story line?

Adventure Mode Stats Pareto Efficiency

I've upgraded solely power at this point, and have broken a 320 yard drive at level 69, but I'm having some difficulties with the final fight. When I considered raising Speed to help in moving to the ball faster, I find that even with multiple levels my stat remains at 1.

I think this implies that the tracked stat values are actually negative, but are floored at 0. Presumably there is an overall level cap, how can I ensure that when I reach that cap, my stats are pareto-efficient. (There doesn't exist a build that's better or equal in all stats.)

What is a spike in Tetr.io?

If I send a large amount of garbage, it shows a number, followed by "spike". What is a spike?

I have found nothing, here on the Arqade, or on Google; just videos of people doing spikes.

Minecraft: Why did modded blocks replace each other throughout the world?

I've encountered a rather odd situation in Minecraft, lately.

It first started when I accidentally loaded one of my modded private servers on OptiFine instead of Forge, thus completely wiping all modded objects from the server. When I eventually did swap back to Forge, of course, nothing I placed was there, however, some of the naturally generated modded blocks were replaced by others from completely different mods.

As an example, one of the mods I used, 'Pam's Harvestcraft', naturally generated various types of plants throughout the world hanging from trees and growing out of the ground. When I returned to the devastated world on Forge, these ground plants were replaced with various objects from 'Mr.Crayfish's Furniture Mod', the plants growing out of the ground being replaced by the likes of computers, door bells, fences, etc. and the fruits that would've normally hung from the trees with things like tables and chairs.

What happened here? Though I doubt there is, is there any way to restore the former state of the world, be it either a previous save or simply the original, first-generated world itself?

How to paste in structure on every instance of a certain block

I am working on a project where I want to paste in a certain structure on every instance of a block. I have until now been using the paste brush but it is a bit too laborious (due to the amount of these blocks) and I wonder if there is any way where I can select the area and have the structure pasted in on every instance of for example orange wool.

(I do not have access to command blocks or structure blocks)

Stacked Observers

I need to know if any of nine blocks, in a 3x3 wall, are updated. Right now I just put a 3x3 wall of observers. I only need one output signal saying "Yes, one of the 9 blocks were updated". e.g., piece of my wall was broken.

So right now, directly behind the wall, I put a 3x3 wall of observers. But I can only pull signals from the bottom three observers. The stacked observers GIVE a signal, but I have no way to retrieve that signal.

How do I add addons to Minecraft Bedrock edition on the Xbox by converting a USB hard drive to be used for a computer?

I found a program to convert the hard drive to be able to be used for a computer. However, how do I open the files? One of them is Microsoft.MinecraftUWPConsole_8wekyb3d8bbwe.UWA, which is probably Minecraft, but I cannot open it.

I have tried notepad and opening the file as an archive with 7zip but both did not work.

Xbox Series S NVME M2 drive doesnt work. How to replace the SSD NVME M2 Drive?

I bought another NVME m2 drive from ebay that is 512GB and did a clone from the Series S nvme drive using Macrium Reflect. And the system would just turn off when I press the power button. Anyone have this issue?

Putting back the original nvme m2 works, but I'm trying to replace it because there is an issue with the original M2 causing games to lag and freeze. Are the nvme m2 drives married to the Xbox Series motherboard?

Is blessing a whip permanent?

Using a whip to collect a relic with rarity equal or greater to the rarity of the whip will bless the whip, which means that the whip no longer has any drawbacks. I originally assumed a whip would only remain blessed for a single run, but after having died (multiple times) in temples with blessed whips, they retained their blessed status. However, I've only tested this with the uncommon green whips (since I haven't actually blessed any higher rarity whips yet), and higher rarity whips may behave differently than the lowest rarity whip. Plus I'm also wondering if a whips blessed status only lasts a set number of temple runs.

Do whips maintain their blessed status permanently?

Can I make the player freeze without powdered snow?

I want to give players the effect where snowflakes appear on the side of the screen, their hearts turn blue, and they take constant damage. Any idea how I can do this while the player is outside of powdered snow?

I tried /effect but that didn't work so I checked the NBT data of the player and of a cow using /data, and it seems that the tag that is changed while an entity is in powdered snow are Ticks Frozen. Setting this value to its natural max, 140, repeatedly on a command block did not cause the cow to take damage, and cannot be tested on players due to the way NBT data modification works.

Microsoft Code Connect with Minecraft Bedrock Edition?

A few weeks ago, I installed Code Connection on my Win 10 laptop, connected to Minecraft, and played around with the tutorials for a while. Now, when I try to use Code Connection, Minecraft just says "can't connect to server". My network has not changed -- and in any case, I'm connecting to localhost. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot?

Can i access an edition pack I bought on my PSN account with a second account logged in?

I am doing the first tutorial and I can't even get through that. I am using a controller, and it's asking me to do all this camera stuff and it literally won't tell me how to, but instead shows me what i would have to do on keyboard and mouse.

And either way, I don't even have a numpad on my keyboard.

Can someone help? I thought since this is a Microsoft game it would go well with a xbox controller.

I am implementing a replica of the classic Super Mario Bros. in the Unity game engine. The problem is, I do not have a Nintendo Entertainment System.

I somehow found out that getting 100 coins will get you an extra 1UP (life), but what about the score?

There are 6 available decimal spots for the score:

So what happens if the score exceeds 999999?

I prepared my Linux Mint usb, and it works fine. I downloaded minecraft, ran it fine, then i used the USB again today and it did not have minecraft on it anymore. I prepared the USB with rufus, and it has 64 gigabytes of storage, although only 3 are partitioned.

I was trying to spawn a wither skeleton with a protection 20 golden helmet and a sharp 20 golden sword. The sword works fine, but the helmet doesn't have any enchantments. This is the command:

Stop fish spawning in a 1X1 block water tube

I have a tube system which carries loot with packed ice on the bottom and water to push it around quickly. This works very efficiently however I am getting an excessive amount of fish and dolphins spawning inside of the tube which I think limits the tubes ability to carry loot as well as make the game a bit laggy. I want to know if there are any ways of stopping the fish from spawning in the tubes or killing them effecgtively whithout removing the packed ice from underneath. The top and sides of the tube are currently made from glass. I'm aware that mobs can't spawn on magma blocks however I don't want to switch my ice for this - will replacing the sides with magma help? (don't want to set that all up for it to then fail). I have also tried placing sea pickles on source blocks but that hasn't done anything.

Can I (Xbox One) and my PS4 friend go in each other's worlds in any way?

I'm an avid Minecraft gamer on the Xbox One. My friend plays on the PlayStation 4. Is it possible for us to play on servers like Hypixel together? And if it is, can we go into each other's worlds if we add each other on such servers?

Also please tell me any way we can interact with each other from outside these servers. Can we use ANY method to go in each other's worlds?

Does Okami HD on PC support smooth run/walk blending?

Most games, when played with an analog controller stick, allow you to seamlessly walk or run at any speed you like.

When I tried a borrowed Switch Pro controller with Okami, I was startled to discover that I could only walk slowly or run at full speed, with no in-between. Instead, it had a sharp, jarring transition about halfway to the edge.

I don't know if this is from the game itself, the controller, or some quirk of the pipeline in between. I've also never played any version before this, so I don't know if it was a limitation of the original, as well.

Does Okami HD for PC support analog speed control with a capable controller?

How do you spawn an entity that can be linked to the player that spawned it in Minecraft 1.13?

I'm working on a minigame in 1.13 and am trying to make a command that executes at a players position and spawns an area effect cloud there. I have managed that but I also need that area effect cloud to be spawned with a tag or something (or a score etc.) that can link it to the player that was used to spawn it. I tried one command that is supposed to give the area effect cloud the players name as a tag but it doesn't seem to work:

Can't Allocate More RAM to Minecraft

I've checked all the other answers and I can't seem to find one that fits my situation. I'll go ahead and list everything I've tried, that way we can cruise through the generic answers.

Heads Up: New PC. Downloaded Java 64x. Copy and Pasted old PC's .minecraft folder. Same specs except for CPU and GPU. It is Modded.

Problem: Everytime I launch Minecraft without allocating any RAM it starts fine but with only 500MB of RAM allocated. I can't add arguments or I get a "Java Virtual Machine" Error. Changing the Environment Variables doesn't affect the 500MB of allocated RAM. If I just add the -Xmx1G etc... argument it launches with 500MB of RAM regardless, unless I add more than 4GB then it spits out the "Java Virtual Machine" error.

Things I've Tried

  • Installed Java 64x
  • Reinstalled Java 64x
  • Re-reinstalled Java 64x
  • Ensured I was using 64x Java and not 32x
  • Made changes to Environment Variables
  • Turned it off and back on again
  • Set specific arguments
  • Reinstalled Minecraft.
  • Re-reinstalled Minecraft.
  • Forced Minecraft to Update (with an error)
  • Googled fixes for several hours
  • Found nothing
  • Posted here and several other places.
  • Awaiting replies...

*Also, don't know if this is important, but the Java website can't verify my Java.

The Cryolator disappears after using the Dogmeat glitch

Inside Vault 111, I asked Dogmeat to fetch items near where the Cryolator is stored. However, when Dogmeat retrieves the Cryolator, it disappears when he drops it. Is the Cryolator lost, or can I still get it somehow?

How do I use /summon to spawn a certain type of item in minecraft? (Such as colored wool)

I want to spawn an enchanted golden apple for a boost in my adventure map (in 1.9) but I end up summoning a normal golden apple. What kind of ID do I add to this:

/summon Item ~ ~1 ~ {Item:{id:minecraft:golden_apple}

To make it spawn an enchanted golden apple? This goes for a lot of things such as colored wool, different wood, all the kinds/variety of stone etc.

Are there any differences between Okami and Okami HD apart from the graphics?

Okami is now reborn in High Definition for PS3. The graphics are obviously better, sharper and yet preserves the gist of the original game, however I can swear some of the texts have changed as well.

My PS2 console is no longer available to me so I can't test it myself, but does anyone know whether there are any changes to the game (aside from graphics) or not?

Etymology of the word "nerf"?

How did the word "nerf" develop to its current meaning in MMO/multiplayer games?

I can remember seeing it for a long time to have the same or similar meaning, even before the explosion of MMOs that happened with World of Warcraft.

(I used the terminology tag, as it seemed the closest fit, though I'm not actually asking what the word means.)

Installing a hard-disk on Xbox 360 4 GB

I have a spare 250 GB 2.5" hdd (Western Digital Scorpio Black, 7200RPM) and I'm planning to buy a new Xbox.

Is it possible to buy a 4GB Xbox (which as far as I understand is provided with a 4GB flash memory but has no conventional hdd) and subsequently install such hdd in it?

In addition: does this void the guarantee?
