| Is there any method to make PDF print out nicely for highlighting on Google Chrome? Posted: 18 Apr 2021 11:07 PM PDT This problem happens on Google Chrome but is also on the Mac, so I am not entirely sure if it is a Mac related issue or Chrome issue. For some webpages, such as https://redux.js.org/introduction/getting-started Google Chrome can print it out as a PDF, but the first highlighting would show the highlighting is off. This has been happening for more than a year:
It doesn't happen if it is printed by Safari, but Safari sometimes has some issue such as the content column quite narrow. Is there a way to make it print out suitable for highlighting if it is on Chrome? It might be a Google Chrome issue or it might be somehow related to how macOS support printing but as a PDF file. Since printing as PDF is particular to Mac but not on Windows, so I am asking this on Ask Different.  |
| How to save and use macOS' Zoom credentials on Keychain? Posted: 18 Apr 2021 09:44 PM PDT I have multiple Zoom accounts and need to switch between them on a constant basis. On iPhone, the credentials are saved on the Keychain, which makes it easier to switch between the login accounts and not needing to type username and password every time. On macOS, I can't find how to use these credentials from Keychain. The Zoom app doesn't offer that choice.  |

| Can we change Windows 10 behavior to be MacOS like? [migrated] Posted: 18 Apr 2021 06:24 PM PDT I'm using Windows 10 but am more comfortable as a Mac User and I really miss some behaviors I've come to expect. I own a 32'' 4K monitor and now with Windows 10, my windows get maximized at full everytime is not ideal. Have any other fellow users which alternate between Mac and Windows have found a solutions for this item? My research for tools yields results about changing the looks of windows more like mac and that's not what I'm interested in. I want the rezise/maximize behavior to make me as efficient as in MacOS. I hope you can point me into the right place to find a solution for this. Are windows controls on Windows 10 modifiable?  |
| Macbook Air + Logitech G773 headset speeding up videos and not detecting mic input Posted: 18 Apr 2021 03:25 PM PDT I recently bought a Macbook Air (Late 2020 M1). I also bought a Logitech G773 headset. Since the receiver is USB-A, and the ports are USB-C, I have an adapter/hub that I am plugging the headset receiver into. If my computer is on when I plug the receiver in, the audio works, but the mic input does not (even after selecting the proper audio input/output in both the app and System Settings). The weirder thing is that when watching videos, such as on Youtube or elsewhere, the video will speed up and go back to normal speed, somewhat randomly. Things I have tried:
Restarting fixes the problem, but it is kind of a pain to do it every time I plug in my headset. Has anyone had a similar issue and can offer a solution?  |

| How to collaborate developing an app without using an App Store Connect Team? [closed] Posted: 18 Apr 2021 07:34 PM PDT My friend and I have personal iCloud accounts that we use to develop apps in our free time. When he clones to his computer and runs, he gets errors with the team, bundle identifier, and push notifications. We don't have a company, so I can't create a team and assign roles. How do we collaborate with each other if we can't make a team? Apparently you need to show proof of a company to Apple to create a Team account. Is there no way for hobbyists to easily collaborate on a project? There is surprisingly little on this topic online.  |

I have to manually retype the string to make it work. Same thing happens if I click the link inside an HTML file. The option "Show full website address" is enabled. However, if I replace https://gramhum.com with https://greatfon.com, it works. I have no problem with Firefox and Chrome. They redirect properly to the new domain https://greatfon.com  |
| Disable the dock in one Desktop/Space only Posted: 18 Apr 2021 01:18 PM PDT On My iMac I usually have several desktops that I use for separate things. While I prefer to have the dock on my main space to access apps easier, I much prefer to have the dock hide on all other spaces, except for the main one. I know, that I can just do options+command+d to hide/unhide the dock whenever, but is there a way, to have different dock settings in different spaces?  |
| Posted: 18 Apr 2021 12:20 PM PDT Catalina 10.15.7, Mail 13.4 2015 iMac. My IMAP iCloud Mail setup has lots of mailboxes. Out of the blue, I see at the bottom of the left side: "Downloading 8,547 of 10,633 messages" I look around as this is going on and see that a major mailbox/folder is missing. ("COMPUTERS" !!) I see there is a new master folder "!Mail" and at then bottom of it, a newly created mailbox/folder "COMPUTERS" with just one message in it. Where has the original COMPUTERS mail folder gone??? I know that we can read the highlighted text from any application if we use a Mac Automator service. This pretty much works for me with only one caveat. The Automator service can be read and modified by anyone. I would like to distribute this as a paid application. Hence, I would prefer that my application not be modified or even read by anyone. Is it possible to do so? I'm fine with using something other than an Automator if the functionality written above is satisfied.  |
| Magic Trackpad 2 jumpy and erratic unless plugged in Posted: 18 Apr 2021 10:17 AM PDT Although the trackpad is fully charged, it's not working properly when not plugged in. Apple says to start in Safe mode but even that didn't work. I've tried turning off bluetooth then back on again. Is there a solution other than just keeping it plugged in from now on? I don't live near an Apple store unfortunately.  |
| Removing free partition on Macbook Macintosh HD Posted: 18 Apr 2021 06:00 PM PDT Let me tell you the story to understand the problem. I installed Ubuntu 20.04 on my mac as the second OS. Later I decided to delete it, and being not good in all this stuff, I decided to just remove the 30gb partition I gave for Ubuntu. However, EFI partition was left. I downloaded Paragon and erased this EFI. But it is not merged still with my Macintosh HD!
So my question is how to merge it (include literally the 314.57 Mb partition) with my hard disk (APFS-container)? I tried to format it as HFS+ and then tried to make it APSF but my system felt and I had to install macOS again. P.S. Disk Utility says that there is a trouble and to repair it, I need to go to recovery mode. But when I go to RM, it says the same thing - even though I turned off filevault as some sources say. I will be very thankful to you for your response!  |
| What is "Safari services" listed in iOS cellular data usage? Posted: 18 Apr 2021 12:52 PM PDT When determining what's eating up my cellular data I look at data usage in the settings app. There the biggest consumer by far is "system services" and inside that item "safari services" is responsible for 95% of all usage. This doesn't really tell me anything useful. What is Safari services? Who is it providing services for? Safari? 3rd party apps? Me? I assume it's not to me or Safari since then I don't see why the data isn't just listed under the Safari app directly, and the same thing if it's to 3rd party apps. If neither then I don't see why it's such a big consumer of data to begin with. How do I cut down on its data consumption? iOS 14.4 on iPhone 8  |
| Two Bootcamp installations: first one on Internal HDD and second one on external Thunderbolt 2 SSD Posted: 18 Apr 2021 07:25 PM PDT after following this detailed guide I've stuck at point 5. which did not make my external 5TB HDD to boot, no "Install Windows" nor "Windows" shows in boot selection menu: Current disk configuration of iMac 2012:
Target is to install Windows 10 on external Thunderbold2 240GB SSD along with the other OS installations.
Because the first attempt with external 5TB HDD did not work I tried to use 240GB SSD with Bootcamp Assistant in Mojave (OS booted from that SSD) to create installation USB-stick and to create Bootcamp partition on SSD with ISO Win10 64-bit 1909 as recommended in the guide. At point 8. I tried to assign letter "S" to EFI partition on SSD but it failed with message There is no volume specified. Please select a volume and try again. So I tried to mount the partition with command Disk status in Windows Setup: Edit: "list disk" output from existing Win10 Bootcamp installation on Internal HDD I appreciate any advice.  |
| iPhone not working but iPad is working with chromecast Posted: 18 Apr 2021 02:44 PM PDT I have been using my phone to cast to my chromecast for almost a year with no problems but about a month ago my phone stopped seeing that my chromecast was available. Fortunately I have an older iPad, so in the case where my phone does not work I use my iPad to cast which still works as it always has. My iPhone and iPad are both on the same WiFi network so if one sees the chromecast, so should the other. Why does my phone not see my chromecast on the same WiFi network but my iPad does? What I have tried:
My conclusion: I may be wrong, but the last thing I can think of is that the phone is broken. Does anyone have any ideas before I conclude that the phone is just broken?  |

The issue was briefly mentioned in the comment section of this thread with no apparent solution. Is it possible to disable this behavior?  |

Tried many queries like "Change podcast show", "Skip this episode", "Next" and many more, some of them leads to google search, some search the apple music library for some reason and some of them are answered by "Sorry, I couldn't skip this". Any ideas what command could help me achieveing this functionality?  |

I don't have any other Macs so "downgrading (from beta to release) bridgeOS using Apple Configurator 2" isn't an option. How can I get the latest bridgeOS on my Mojave Mac mini?  |

| Lost bluetooth connection with mouse Posted: 18 Apr 2021 11:30 PM PDT I have a big problem with bluetooth on my Mac Book Pro. I bought my first MacBook about month ago. For the first week everything was ok, but then my mouse began to lose connection with the computer. This happens very often (on average every two minutes) and is very annoying. I'm pretty sure that is not Magic Mouse fault, because I tried connect standard bluetooth mouse and the problem also occurs. It looks something like this: works with the mouse, suddenly the cursor disappears. even though I move the mouse, nothing happens on the screen (the touchpad works correctly). After about 20 seconds a message about lost connection with the mouse appears and after 10 seconds a message that the mouse has been connected. And now the strangest thing: When bluetooth headphones are connected to the computer and I play audio, the problem does not occur. When the headphones are connected but I don't play music, the problem occurs but much less often. Could this be a problem with the bluetooth module? It is worth noting that the bluetooth keyboard works flawlessly. Please help, because it prevents me from working. Devices:

| How to uninstall an app on iOS Posted: 18 Apr 2021 02:11 PM PDT Of course, by holding down on an icon and tap the x lets me uninstall an app. But take a look at this:
Here, the Pandora app is somehow stuck at the "update phase". Tapping it to continue download doesn't work. The progress "circle" will get stuck. So I decided to reinstall it.
For some reason it doesn't even show the name of the app. It's just blank. Tapping delete does nothing. So what do I have to do to fix this problem? Running iOS 8, not jail broken.  |
| Magic Mouse is frequently losing its connection to MacBook Pro Posted: 18 Apr 2021 11:28 PM PDT My Magic Mouse is intermittently losing its connection to my MacBook Pro. First the mouse becomes unresponsive and a few seconds later, a picture of the mouse appears on the screen wit the words "Connection Lost." Then about 10 seconds later, the connections is "magically" re-established, without any action on my part. Any ideas on what this could be due to and how I can stop this? I have changed the batteries and they are brand new. My software is also up-to-date unless there is a special bluetooth update that I have to go get somewhere.  |

There seems to be disagreement in the Apple forums. Can I use either adapter with any portable Mac?  |
